KUMB Writers Award 2004/05 - Steve soars but Teddy still tops!

Young Edward Sheringham still leads the race for the 4th annual KUMB Writers’ Award as at the close of February.

However Teddy faces a challenge for the top slot from the even younger Steve Bywater. Bywater started the month facing a challenge for his place from James Walker but a string of fine performances between the sticks saw the Hammers’ no.1 rise from eighth to second place in the table.

Also upwardly mobile was Anton Ferdinand, whose improved form saw him move up three places to claim eleventh spot in the chart. Mark Noble, however, will have to wait another few weeks at least before making his chart debut. Noble, who has been highly impressive during his recent run in the first team, picked up a knock in the 5-0 win over Plymouth Argyle. The match was his 9th first team appearance and the injury has left him stranded one appearance short of the 10 required for a chart listing. Sorry Mark- rules is rules!
