KUMB Writers Award 2004/05 - Noble closes on Teddy

Young Edward Sheringham continues his spell in first place for the 4th annual KUMB Writers award.

However, as the season reaches its climax, Teddy faces a stern challenge In the form of the slightly younger Mark Noble who, following a spell out with injury, has finally made enough appearances to make his first entry on the chart at no.2 with a weighted average per match score of 6.43. This score is a mere 0.01 of a point behind Sheringham’s 6.44. Marlon Harewood isn’t far off the pace in third place on 6.41 marks.

March was not a good month for ‘keeper Stephen Bywater though. An excellent run of form in February was followed by an indifferent March, culminating in his drop from 2nd to 6th position. His place between the sticks has been taken by Jimmy Walker, who needs another three matches under his belt to gain a place on the chart, which is compiled from the marks given out by KUMB’s legendary band of highly trained, and occasionally sober match reporters.
