KUMB Writers’ Player Of The Month: November 2005

This was a shorter month than usual thanks to the international break which saw October’s player of the month Paul Konchesky resume his international career once Sven had worked out that a decent left back playing regularly for his club might just be a better bet than a poor one who hadn’t played for two years.

For the November award, “Konch” finished in joint second place alongside his fellow defender Danny Gabbidon. Both finished the month with an average of 7.00 marks. However the KUMB Writers’ Player of the Month for November 2005 was Hayden Mullins. Mullins average for the month of 7.33 marks was largely based on two excellent performances against West Bromwich Albion and Spurs.

Mullins recent form sees him remain in 7th position in the overall standings in the race for the KUMB Writers’ player of the year award, though he has closed the gap between him and the injured Nigel Reo-Coker. Meanwhile it’s all change again at the top. Roy Carroll, who had been going well before his bizarre training ground injury, has taken over at the top of the table from last month’s leader Yossi Benayoun who has slipped down to fifth place.
