West Ham away form suggests win is good odds

Nottingham Forest provide the opposition for West Ham this weekend and despite the bad result during the week, there is still plenty of cause for optimism for the season and weekend ahead.

Despite Nottingham Forest having home advantage for the game, it is West Ham who have been made the favourites to pick up three points. West Ham can be backed at a best price of 6/4 at the time of writing with Nottingham Forest not far behind at 15/8. The draw is available at 23/10.

It might not be much of an advantage for Nottingham Forest playing at home though, they are yet to win at home this season in the Championship having drawn both their games at the City Ground.

The Hammers could be in for plenty of good away days this season if the previous two games are anything to go by. West Ham have a perfect away record so far in the Championship so a good away record versus a poor home record suggests West Ham are good value at 6/4 to win this match.

Nottingham Forest haven’t really been banging them in so far this season, they have scored just three goals in four league games and have failed to score in two of those matches. Meanwhile, West Ham have been pretty solid at the back, conceding less than a goal a game and keeping two clean sheets away from home.

This would suggest that backing West Ham to keep a Clean Sheet is a good idea at 2/1. An even more tempting bet could be West Ham to win to nil (win with a Clean Sheet) at 10/3, that could be a huge price.

The Correct Score options should be narrowed down plenty if West Ham do keep a Clean Sheet, Forest have only conceded four goals in the league so far whilst West Ham have scored seven so by far the most likely outcomes should be 1-0 at 15/2 and 2-0 and 12/1. At those sorts of prices it could be worth covering both of those outcomes.

The First Goalscorer betting is always popular on games that are live on Sky Sports and this game should be no different. Carlton Cole has scored in the last two league games and he is 6/1 to score first whilst Kevin Nolan and Scott Parker have already chipped in with league goals, are they value to score first at 8/1 and 16/1 respectively?
