Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Our cats fur has only just gone back down after I yelled out at the comms bloke, turned him off for domestic harmony after that. Amazing isn't it mate, the very rare times we actually play some good football, it's always because the opposition are "Not at the races" or "Having...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Did the tnt commentator mention that Bayer Laverkusen were unbeaten or that they won the Bundesliga? I can't recall. He also had the gall to say Leverkusen had a bit of an hangover from the title celebrations last weekend. Nevermind the fact our players ran themselves into the ground and totally ou...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Proud of that performance. Ran ourselves into the ground 1st half, but it took its toll for the final 45. Moyes' hands were tied with the limited options off the bench, it would have been a miracle if we qualified tonight. Just wish we had more of a go at them in the 1st leg. Considering they're Ger...

Absolutely superb 1st half performance by the lads, one of the best under Moyes' tenure. We can play a bit when we want to see. The dream is still alive.

I was looking for A N Other on the bench but couldn't see it! Must be saving him for Palace on Sunday :winker:

Bench is dire.
Partly the reason we need to get the job done in normal time.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Mate I'd love to see us go all out. Keeping it tight in the last leg saw us lucky to come away with a 2-0 defeat, but I really doubt we will go for it early and I'm trying to envision it working :crossed: Yeah I know what you mean, maybe it's a case of wishful thinking on my part, I mean it's not l...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Exactly what I'm expecting. If we concede first it's all over. Keep it tight, try and nick a goal and if it's still 0-0 at 60 minutes, we go all out. Respect your opinion stone hammer even though if differs from how I would like to see the game go. But is there a danger, the longer Leverkusen go wi...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

I'm still of the opinion that we should go right at them from the off. I'd maybe think slightly differently if we were only a goal behind from the 1st leg. Need to erase the deficit asap. Don't fancy our chances with the limited squad to go through extra time or penalties. Try to get the job done in...

We therefore need:

RB 1st choice x1
CB 1st choice x2, backup x1
LB backup x1
CM backup x1
LW first choice x1, backup x1
ST first choice x1, backup x1

That's 5 at first team level and 5 back ups as I make it.
You've just got David Sullivan's back up by posting that sendo

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

**** or bust, nothing to lose attitude from our players from the off. No point in trying to keep things tight and hope to get lucky in the 2nd half. Need to put the seed of doubt in Leverkusen's minds early doors. Must take our chances whenever they present themselves, can't afford any Antonioesque ...

Re: Everton FC: 10 Point Deduction Confirmed for PL FFP breach

Everton have appealed. The result of the appeal could come 5 days after the end of the season. So relegation could be decided by old farts in a room. I can see that not going down well and make Sheffields March on London look like a day trip. They'll escape relegation by the skin of their teeth aga...

Re: Masters predictions

Thanks for running Mumbles, and congratulations on the win. I quite enjoyed watching the final round, great to see a Master of his game at work. Frightening to think what more he can achieve in the sport given how his putting has improved. Plus I told a few of my mates who'd listen to get their mone...
