Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Before 2021, West Ham had never reached the group stages of a European competition. 3 years later, we’ve played 37 European fixtures in 13 countries, winning 70% of them, scoring 69 goals, and lifting a trophy. Yeah but despite all this we've been knocked out by one of the best teams in Europe at t...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
That performance today also dispels the myth spouted earlier in this week that the players hate him too. Super proud of that performance, that first half was fight, energy, guts & courage. Props to the fans in the stadium as well, it was absolutely rocking. Our legs tired in the second half and ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I would prefer we keep Moyes (over any manager barring the truly elite) but if Moyes has been a dinosaur for the last 4 years, someone 3 years younger isnt going to have much luck here.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I don't get the question about what manager outside of the top six have won a European trophy in the last four years? Apart from Pep , which other manager IN the top six has even won a euro. trophy in the last four years never mind outside the top six.Why not ask which West Ham manager nearly took ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Take this how you want I’ve been told from someone close to the club Moyes officially told the players after yesterdays game he will be leaving at the end of the season and it will be announced when we exit Europa league. If this is true it's smart to announce it now, and hopefully gee up the playe...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
If we are to change managers this summer, the new man must be young, pragmatic, and be given time to build slowly. He also has to try to play on the front foot or the fans won’t abide him, and he needs to be given enough money to buy a squad that has no chance to go down. I think it's more importan...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Also, this top 6 or thereabouts Which two clubs of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham & Newcastle with their resources & spending power do we feel we have a divine right to finish ahead of, to the point where it's considered a failure of the manager to...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
In my opinion this is due to the managers rigid style which discourages players moving out of what he sees as their optimum position Hmm I'm not entirely sure, I think our attackers are pretty fluid and switch around a lot. I've also seen our CM press really high (sometimes ahead of strikers) and d...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I think there really is a reasonable middle ground view on our last game. Playing compact and trying to hit Bayer on the break was probably a smart game plan away from home. However, at the same time, under Moyes and other managers we have set up like that to frustrate even better sides than Bayer,...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Tiresome Likewise. I thought it was the "Moyes In" crowd who shoot down discussion? My entire point is that our bench does not have quality, our game plan worked for 80 minutes and then they brought on Boniface and Hofmann. David Moyes looked at his bench and half of them are still school...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Worked for the first goal, eh? Then Moyes makes changes that were late, and out of desperation, and they go and score a second! But it’s not Moyes fault though is it? Leaving 11 players knackered on the pitch when he could have introduced gradual changes? Nah, that’s not his fault is it……..? This. ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
All of them are in our price level. Wirtz is a Leverkusen product. We have recently spent more money for players than Leverkusen did for Frimpong (Celtic), Homann (Glacbach) or Boniface (Union SG), so calm down! OK I apologize I thought you meant that nobody had heard of them before this season - b...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Leverkusen and Xabi Alonso demonstrate what kind of football is possible with an almost no name squad. Nobody has known Grimaldo, Wirtz, Adli, Frimpong, Andrich, Hofmann or Boniface before. They show that an attractive and successful football is possible without having a capital like Manchester Uni...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
What level of respect should we give the team top of Bundesliga by 16 points, unbeaten in 40 without Alvarez, Bowen and Phillips and a threadbare squad?
It isn't as simple as "More strikers = more goals" unfortunately.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
So all of the successes that I’m sure yourself and other pro Moyes posters like to throw out, did he not create the environment for those too? Or is it just the bad ones? Yes because we have a strong starting 11, when it works Sullivan deserves credit for that for bringing in the likes of Paqueta, ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
David Sullivan doesn’t ask Moyes to try and draw games 0 - 0, he doesn’t ask Moyes to play that daft low block every game from City away to Bristol City at home, he doesn’t ask Moyes to continually disregard having any kind of possession to relieve the strain on the defenders and actually let the l...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I genuinely really like to get opposing views from my own to try and level my opinions. But I’m just flabbergasted that anyone can come away from that thinking we’d done well. I doubt Leverkusen have had many easier games this season. Not only was their goal not threatened, their entire final third...
