If the budget is about 50%-60% of that, so is the sensible level of recruitment, imo.
Our net spend under Moyes is roughly £55m per season.

So this can only go well.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Will Still anyone? I came here to say this. He is 9 points behind Fonseca's Lille, but that doesn't tell the full story. In the Summer they lost their loaner Balogun who scored 21 goals last season. Despite this their net spend this Summer was +€22m. They lost their top scorer, then made money. The...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Would you start with Ings ? I'd put Kudus up top and Antonio on the right. It's tricky, Ings obviously has a record of being able to put chances away, but he's never looked like it for us. For me we need to get our best attacking options available on the pitch, our big issue is having no cover for ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Bayer may be hungover from winning the title, wouldn't be the first team to fall off after winning the big one.

If we take the lead at any point they may be rattled.

This isn't over.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Of course . supporters of our great club ain't entitled to dream of anything better. Chelsea in the early 90s . Had crowds of 7 and 8 000. And they were considered a giant in the works. West ham United currently average over 62 000 . Yet were small make it make sense. Under this current owner we wo...

You know Steve cooper has been at a few of our games now. That is who will replace Moyes As for that group of vile non going match fans in that video on social they are not fans, they have no insider knowledge they are just trying to be like talk sport. Talk enough bullocks and hate and it will get...

We've been linked to Mohamed Amoura.

23 year old Algerian striker, 17 goals in 25 games for Royale Union SG this season.

A far less successful Moyes with a gravelly voice.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Nagelsmann is favourite... but he is 3/1 according to a betting website in 2nd Lord knows what he has done tbh An albeit impressive 6th placed finish, followed by crashing out of Europe and currently in 10th. Moyes' record is genuinely better. We're only actually 8 points behind the tally that got ...

Speaking of other coaches. I’ve never been a big advocate for Potter and I don’t particularly want him here but he might make the most logical sense. Thinking back to what he took over at Brighton, a defensively solid Hughton side that had achieved a lot by their standards. He immediately improved ...

. Or Sullivan will just go back to type and get someone he likes, and we'll be playing decent football for 6 months, not back the manager totally, get smashed and finish bottom half, then like a round about, go back to a solid Moyes, Big Sam type 1-2 years later and continue the merry go round. Unf...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

This transfer spending myth isn't helping either. You can quote £400m all you want. One, it's not the real number, and two, split over his entire tenure it's a pretty poor level of spend. £216m net over the last four seasons. Just over £50m a year. People talk like he's spent fortunes. Pellegrini sp...

If ,as seems likely ,we don't get Europe for next season then motes must go .the style of play is awful, when was the last yime we bossed a game. Every team has more shots etc than us . Dire foitball and not winning means one thing.bew manager required This is such a daft way of deciding on a manag...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Unfortunately our best hope is probably being able to claim we were the only team to beat Leverkusen this season, winning by three though, it just doesn’t seem at all likely. Really hope they don’t score an early goal, or it will feel a bit like after we conceded following Creswell’s sending off in...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Plenty of CBs possibly available in the summer. Tosin - free transfer from Fulham, may want to stay in London. Mengi - only 21, has looked good for Luton, might be a good price if they go down. Jake O'Brien - Perhaps we could wrangle him as part of the Benrahma deal. A solid breakout season in France.
