Today, Martin Peters crossing the Ongar Rd, very smartly dressed in a suit and tie, taller than I thought

Last month Clive Allen in Sainsburys, not as smart as Martin Peters

How I envy you people living in the posh parts of Essex and Surrey surrounded by 'the great and good'. At 3a Bog Street Loughborough all I see is the local lollypop lady. However, the Uni affords a few 'faces' being a sports gaff and all. Have seen Jeff Capes (Olympic shot-putter back in the day), Kenny Dalglish (here for a graduation ceremony) and the entire Samoan rugby union squad. There's apparently a lot of England cricketers about but I wouldn't recognise any of them

Saw Michael Greco and other star poker players (didn't know their names) outside the Grosvenor Victoria Casino today, being filmed walking along the same stretch of pavement about 6 times, all in the same poncey blue t-shirt. Obviously someone wasn't walking properly for it to need that many takes. My money was on the bloke with the sunglasses.

40 years eh? Well, well, in about 1973 I was queuing up for a gig (Budgie?) o/s the Marquee in Wardour st and out of a limo gets Rod Stewart. In a pink satin suit but no bird. Ran into a building next door probably before we could run and touch his clothing.

I can go back to before I was born, not quite a Today i bumped into ........story, but a good one anyway

My mum used to be the manager of the Wimpey in Marylebone High St in the late 50's. Cliff Richard lived locally and used to pop in quite a bit for a takeaway. One day he come's in a makes his order, but when it came time to pay poor old Cliff had forgot his money.

Although Cliff promise to come back and pay next time he was in, Ma had to decline his offer and sent him off to get a few pence together!!

I met him on Monday, as he came to watch my show and then popped backstage. As i was introduced as our mutual friend said 'She's a Hammer'. Michael (or Mike as i was told) said he's a Chelski fan and is gutted Steve Clarke is now at West Ham!
