The new parking charges in Havering.

£1 to park for an hour. A few years ago it was free. I'm not sure how the council have the cheek.

Again for recruitment consultants.

I work with them as IT Support but that's a whole other story :x

Anyway, I actually recommended a company for my brother to get in contact with. IT recruitment agency in the City blah blah and one I have used in the past to no real avail but just giving him a few contacts.

He gets an interview. Brilliant. Turns up to the interview and the guy interviewing him has my CV infront of him. Not my Brothers. Now this causes a bit of panic because the interviewer had lined up questions based through my experience etc. Throws a bit of a paddy and tells my brother that they need to re-schedule.

Rightly so, my brother gives the guys at the recruitment place an earful. They get pissed off. Refuse to accept the blame. Start ignoring his calls, emails regarding re-scheduling.

I then get a call from the same agency asking if I would be interested in said job. Told them to remove me from their books because they are clowns. My brother now contacted the guy directly over LinkedIn and re-arranged as they were ignoring him.

Stress.

People who highlight books (in pen and felt tip) that they don't intend to own/keep themselves.

People who, at the slightest sight of sunshine, play their crappy music/radio loudly in their gardens.

Hornchurch.

First 20 mins free, 1 for first hour, two hours was more (might have been £2).

It used to be free.

A couple of years ago they made it 20p. A "token gesture".

Oxford Street: Trains don't stop at Totty Court Road for the central line, the shops down there are mostly crap - Primark and Sports Direct FFS - plus shops selling iffy food and crap stuff for tourists to take home, people walking down the road, head in their phones bumping in to all and sundry, tourists standing still or walking at a zombie pace, cars and buses jumping lights, cyclists on the pavement plus rush hour on the underground!

The best one yet - a bloke on a really ****, cheap, nasty plastic skateboard, skating down the road - holding a 2 year old baby! He looked really crap on the board and it was only a matter of time when - not if - he would cannon into someone and go arse over tit with the baby! Then he crossed Oxford street on his board with his baby in his arms weaving in and out traffic!!

I was astounded by his stupidity.

Got petrol - got back in car - caught pocket of trousers on car - ripped trousers - put cd on - this track was on - The Hunter by 30 Seconds To Mars - contains these lyrics - "tear you to pieces, rip you apart" - you just couldn't make it up !!!

In their defence, Havering Council have had their budgets decimated in recent years. They have to raise money somehow.

I'd suggest selling drugs outside of schools before putting up car parking charges.

They really are terrible, especially when I've been having to get to interviews.

I'm too used to the efficient service of c2c, I miss them :(

Looks like they have changed their minds? I just got this through :
New charges from Monday

From Monday 27 April 2015 Havering Council is tidying up some of its car parking charges outside of Romford and at on-street pay and display sites (not meter tariff sites) across the borough, to extend the free parking period and reduce the cost of parking for up to two hours.

The aim of having a period of free parking outside Romford was to encourage people to visit our high streets and support local businesses

The new parking charges will apply for Havering Council’s car parks, outside Romford Town Centre.

The new schedule of charges is as follows:
• Up to 30 minutes - FREE
• Up to 2 hours - £1.00
• Up to 3 hours – £2.00

The pay and display machines will be set to allow a maximum of two free 30 minute periods in any given 24 hour period – one am and one pm.
The remaining tariff structure is unchanged and can be seen here.
Parking remains free on a Sunday and there is no need to display a ticket on Sundays.
Improved signage will explain the new charging system.

Under new laws brought in earlier this year, parking enforcement will only be considered 10 minutes after the ticket has expired, giving motorists a ‘grace period’ to return to their vehicle.
