The cost of car insurance.
How is it I'm being quoted £420 for a 2L 3 series that's 10 years old with 9 years no claims discount?

I'm dealing with my Dad's car insurance and his renewal quote has gone up by 30%. No change in circs and full no claims. Complete rip off. Now hitting the comparison sites where, no doubt, the same company will offer a much cheaper deal

Agreed. Everytime i see somebody driving like a dickhead nine times out of ten it's an Audi driver. The other time is generally a BMW driverchigwells finest wrote:

I was an IT Major Incident manager for four years, the above sounds very familiar.DasNutNock wrote:Having a mare at work today, anyone who works in IT will be familiar with it. Been asked to sort out a major operational issue with a piece of infrastructure, and when I tried to troubleshoot it, I just kept uncovering more and more related issues, each with other "linked" issues that will need to be investigated. So basically, I've fixed nothing and have given myself a pile of other work to do, and am none the wiser as to what's causing the problem.
Hated the job in the end.

Re: Little things that irritate you
Always always always haggle with insurance companies. Especially if they've put it up for no reason. Last year I renewed my bike insurane and it had gone up by 100 sheets, despite years of no claims and it being garaged etc. I flat refused to pay it saying they were taking the piss to which they immediately knocked 50 quid off. Not good enough I said, knock another 50 off and we'll be in business. After much sob stories and basically bull**** they knocked a further 50 off to what it should have realistically been in the first place. I'm convinced the additional was commission for the phone bod and his manager.Mr P wrote:I'm dealing with my Dad's car insurance and his renewal quote has gone up by 30%. Re: Little things that irritate you
Re insurance - it seems to be standard practice. Nothing to do with risk, just that most people simply renew without checking. Always change.
