Thanks Rocketron, the plans did call for a tail made from jute, but I didn't think something made from what is basically rope and sticky fingers were a good mix, very hard to keep clean, as it is it's hardwood oiled with walnut oil, so a wipe with a damp cloth should do the trick.

Me and kids were looking for a film to watch and Stand By Me was mentioned.
My little boy said there's a song called that by Ben E King and then sung more or less the whole song to me.
Brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my face.

Indeed it is Algarve, great work, and as someone else mentioned, that will be more loved as she gets older and realises the love that went into it - well played sir
Friday afternoon, sun is shining, phones/e-mail are calming down, mates are texting as they are starting to chill and planning a few beers, girlfriend sent me a lovely text about us, been a crap week generally, but thank crunchie for Fridays.

Getting some left over asparagus and sugar snaps, putting them in a soup maker with Veggi Bullion, ground garlic, salt pepper and a small shot of Evaporated milk plus some water and then letting the soup maker do its thing. The result was a truly wonderful, delicate yet tasty soup that even my father, a bit of a fussy eater, loved to bits and wanted more.
In fact he wants me to make more of the same tomorrow!

Realising about 10 years after everyone else that I can bulk buy all my meat for training in Aldi and it costs me about as half as much as waitrose and that the quality is not half bad either.

The completely innocent honesty of children.
An exchange with my three year old earlier.
'Mate, do you need a wee?'
'No'.
'So why are you playing with your willy then?'
'Because it feels nice...'

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Getting my hands on a really top notch fake Rolex Submariner. Looking forward to the first person at work spotting it and asking if its legit. To which I'll reply, "Christ, no! I'm not nearly enough of a c*nt to spend five grand on a watch" loudly enough so that the real Rolex wearers in earshot can hear me.
For the record, Rolex wearers in my office are the "dress for the job you want" types who believe the key to top tier success is schmoozing, bullsh*tting and attempts to fake competence.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
This week it's going to be Hull City fans.
They will spend the whole week casting a nervous eye across all the scenarios possible.
Fine tooth combs and magnifying glasses will get terribly overused. Hope will flitter here and there. Despair will follow.....then hope again.....then despair.
And to cap it all they are relying partially on West Ham United..
Bless their little Tigery socks.....for they know not.
