Actually I thought Spector deserved praise for getting back to cover Neill's position and almost cutting out the cross. I think I'd be inclined to "rest" Lucas for a bit and give Johnny Pants a few games, alternatively play him at centre-back as the Aussies often do, where his lack of pace won't be so exposed. Full backs need pace and mobility.
JS has done a good job by and large, and his versatility make him an ideal man to have on the bench.

Oh and BTW if nobody`s noticed, Sp*rs are still 8 point below us in the league :raver:

Papering over the Cracks ?
After Yesterdays game I came away well chuffed. A massive HATS OFF to Freddie Sears who has made me feel so postive about WHU in a long long time....Well done son. For once in a long time a Youngster has made the grade and shown what The Academy at WHU can produce.
Also,When Deano Scored he ran over to where I stand and stood there as if to say "I'm Back and I'm here to Prove YOU all wrong"
The others came over and all had the same attitude as if to stick some of our recent comments back down our throats ! Maybe we do deserve it maybe we don't thats another matter but what does matter is the way we played in The second half and it was the best performance I have seen from West Ham since the manure and liverpool (home) games.
It shows that we CAN be so very dangerous when it comes to quick attacking football against a team who are not a million miles away from the position I would like to see us challenge for.
I just hope that yesterdays result wasn't a one off and WHU are papering over the cracks....I would expect at least another 12-15 points from our remaining games...but can only see a possible 10 at best with Home games playing the advantage.
I'm certain that things will change in the summer at all levels, Curbs being shown the door, Deano going to the Barcodes (hope not), and WHU now being WHU PLC where money matters...........

Sears waiting for his chance to come on..........
Being serious yesterday will be one of those monents where people can associate an event with something that happened to them. Well yesterday, Freddy follows up his shot and scores, during the celebrations my friend Adam behind me launches himself and slips on the chair and falls onto me causing:

Thank you Sears. Also well done Lucas Scissorhands for being woefully out of position so Spector has to come across to cover your bloody mess which gives Blackburn the easiest of goals. Cheers

Re: West Ham Vs Blackburn Match Thread:
Got to agree with what many have said on this thread, Sears goal got the Boleyn really rocking. It was made for him to come and score the winner, it was just pefect. His movement for the goal was very good and I thought he showed great strikers instincts to follow in his original shot. It's only a start for him but what a brilliant start.
The atmosphere as well just went up with about 20 minutes to go. Even before Sears came on (which gave us even more of a lift) the atmosphere was good.
Even before the winner I thought we were playing well. Granted we had a few dodgy moments but I felt we looked better going forward and I don't really think everyone had a bad game. Ashton was back to the player we know he can be, Parker adds to our midfield big time (granted he was partly at fault for their goal) and Ljungberg had a decent game on the left as well. Many people have said he's not been worth the money but I think Ljungberg after the past three or so months has put in a lot of effort and had quite a few good games.

Lucas Neill did a good pass to Ashton to start off the move for the final goal *runs away very quickly*

The youth of today...
Don't you realise that Neill was actually shooting towards our own goal, but messed it up? Down with Neill!
