Everton 1 West Ham Utd 1 (22/03/08)
Just thought I would start this while we're all feeling positive. Hoping for this line-up:
Green, Neill, Ferdinand, Upson, McCartney, Faubert, Parker, Noble, Ljungberg, Ashton, Sears.
Subs: Wright, Spector, Tomkins, Collison, Zamora.
Depending of course on whether Faubert and Upson are fit. I think Ashton and Sears could be a great partnership, both with massive potential for us AND England.
I'll go for a 2-0 win. Ashton and Sears again.

Sears will not start unless Zamora or Ashton are not fit.
The young lad played 20 minutes if first team football. He needs to be eased in, not thrown in.
Same starting XI unless Upson is fit.

Injury permitting of course
Green, Neill, Upson, Ferdinand,McCartney,Solano,Parker,Noble,Ashton,Zamora,Ljungberg
Subs : Wright,Spector,Faubert,Mullins,Sears
I would be conscious of placing too much on the shoulders of our new hero. Much as I want to see him play, if he is a confidence player, a few poor games could damage him. Furthermore, I will reserve judgement. Remember Kepa Blanco and Kyel Reid ? Goal on debut, and a very impressive debut. Neither went anywhere after

Re: West Ham vs Everton
Whatever team we play (within reason), the rest of the season:
Everton - lose
Sunderland - win
Bolton - win
Derby - win
Newcastle - win
Manure - lose
Villa - draw
13 points - finish on 56 points in 8-10 place.

Re: West Ham vs Everton
would have the same 16 as today, unless Upson's fit in which case he'd replace Spector, and would prefer to see Ethers/Reid if fit in for Paintsil.
Don't think Sears should start, but he has more than earned the right to keep a place in the 16. Give him another 20 at the end, or if we can afford it (a 2-3 goal margin to either team) give him the 2nd half.

Re: West Ham vs Everton
Desperately need Upson back.
Away from home, against a team with plenty to play for, this wont be pretty if we have Spector and Ferdinand as our main line of defence against Yakubu and Johnson, and especially defending at set-pieces against Lescott, Yobo, Cahill etc, where I think we've looked dreadful in the last couple of games.
Would like to see the bigger lads from elsewhere in the team contribute to heading the ball away at set pieces also.
If Upson plays we might win. If he doesn't I suspect that it'll be gruesome.

Re: West Ham vs Everton
Andy Johnson has gone off with a groin strain against Fulham. Might miss our game so that's a plus for us. Might mean we'll concede less than 4.

Totally agree, I would like to see Noble come in for this game. Everton are all about the midfield & I think Parker & Noble would be very well suited to this game.
Apart from that I totally agree.

Re: West Ham vs Everton
i wouldnt start sears just yet unless none of the senior players are fit, we have to be careful with sears.
but by all means bring him off the bench to get him used to the physical side of the game as an impact player.
Noble impressed me yesterday, looked quite creative and he is still very young so hes a credit to all the young players coming through. Anton also we forget how young he is sometimes.

Am going to this and staying in liverpool. hope sears starts with ashton, it was great to see them link up together. This is something that we haven't seen much of this season. Where will be the best place to drink for hammers at goodison. hope to see you there.
