PSF: Columbus Crew 1 West Ham Utd 3 (20/07/08)

Postby Iron worker on Mon May 26, 2008 1:46 am

Just heard the word that we will be playing Columbus (Crew is it?) probably the Sunday before the MLS all star game in Toronto. Reliable source met with the Chicago Fire and was asking about them playing the Hammers. They said no (gutted), they will play Columbus. So seeing as Toronto is on a Thursday, will probably be the Sunday prior.
Bobby O will you still be coming via Chicago? Not too bad of a journey for anyone basing themselves out of Chicago.

A bunch of us here in NYC figured we'd at least get a Northeast tour and a stop here. Alas, we're ***** out of luck. The trek from here to Toronto is about nine hours, and it's the better part of the day by train. I'm really dissapointed -- I would assume there's a much larger English contingent here than in Columbus!

I'm going to this one if true. Much larger capacity stadium than Toronto, very accessible due to interstate system in Columbus, and good hotels close by. Date works better for me and everything. Great news if true.

It's a pretty nailed on cert as far as playing Columbus, I'm just guessing it's probably the Sunday before though if it's a Thursday game in Toronto. I wouldn't book book a hotel yet around the date, don't shoot the messenger.

Totally missed this over the weekend. Interesting news. Might be worth the trip, wish it was the Saturday though. Guy who plays on my football team is a massive Crew fan. Could make for a run trip

No date is given, but the Crew writer for the Columbus newspaper says we'll be playing there in July

Coley, as I stated earlier, I am just guessing it would be the Sunday, but could well be the Saturday. I'm hoping it's the Sunday and carry on with the family to Niagara then Toronto. It's gonna be a West Ham family vacation this year! Now I just have to tell 'em.
