Manchester Utd 2 West Ham Utd 0 (29/10/08)

Post by daniel »

So can't see a result for us here either which will make it 4 games on the trot. Are Neill and Behrami fit for this one?
If so:

-------------------------Green----------------------
Neil------Collins--------Upson--------Ilunga
Faubert-----Behrami----Parker-----Matty
---------------Bellamy-----Sears-------------

A bit harsh on Mullins and Bowyer who did well yesterday, but without Cole there's no point in playing a 4-3-3 formation. If Behrami is out bring Mullins in.

Carlton Cole's not playing so statistically, this increases our chances of scoring a goal and therefore, our improves our chances of winning this match.

Gawd help us. GZ's looking for new alternatives and methods but I feel we could come even more undone against Man Utd.
I just hope there's no backlash after.

I think we will play well... certainly better than our last outing against them in the spring. After that game I wanted to shoot myself, none of our lads seemed to care - nice goal from Ashton though. I am unwilling to comment on the score line as I fear it will hurt a bit. But being West Ham means one has a sense of humor, as proven last night riding home on a train with the slightly tipsy, gloating, PMSing Arse beast that is my wife.

Team for this game?

Neill in for Faubert (if he's fit) Behrami in for Di Michele (again, if he's fit) and Boa Morte in for Cole...

A bit of an unbalanced midfield but that's our only real option unless Cole gets his ban over turned (which I doubt seeing as it's us!)...

Faubert has been playing poorly and made a big mistake yesterday but Neill's lack of pace is an absolute liability in that position especially against a team with pace like Man U. How many times would an Arsenal player have knocked the ball forward and run straight passed Neill if he had been playing? We will never know but my guess is many. The last thing you want is players getting in behind the defence so for that reason and the fact that Neill is not exactly immune to mistakes himself I would still go will either Faubert or Behrami (if fit).

I think we should play 5 in the centre with Bellamy up on his own.

One of the biggest games of the season for me personally. There is very little in life that gives me more pleasure than doing Man United over. I would love it so so much to beat those cheating, diving, prima-donna c**** in their own backyard. Come on Frankie, do us this favour and I'll be yours forever...

------------------Green---------------

Neill*--Upson--Collins--Ilunga

---Behrami--Mullins--Parker--

-------------------LBM---------------

Sears---------------------------Bellamy

'Same old West Ham' will keep a clean sheet, or concede a cricket score.

The best we can hope for is a score draw, imo.

*(Nice to say hello to Nani again - Sharmone!)

We really needed Carlton Cole for this one...he caused Man United all sorts of problems last time, and I would think a 4-5-1 would've been preferred against them, meaning you need Cole.

I can't even think of a formation to play tbh...it's just play what you can, and go for a result. Let's face it, we may aswell just go at them and get beat with a chance...

Bellamy played up top on his own for Blackburn & it was probably the best spell of his career.

I would like to see Sears start.

I see we have appealed against Cole's Red Card ......if it is overturned is he available on wednesday ?

Assuming it get's overturned as it should...my team would be.

Green
Neil
Ginge
Upson
Illunga
Behrami
Bowyer
Parker
Mullins
Bellers
Cole

If Cole is banned then why not throw Tristan in ....may not be fully fully fit ..but big guy to tie up a couple of defenders for 60mins say then bring on a sub.

Bench
Lastuvka
Davenport
Lopez
Faubert
LBM
Di Michele
Sears

Going to be tough ...hopefully we can keep it as tight as against Arsenal .....and get a bit more luck on the break or set pieces.
