Portsmouth 1 West Ham Utd 4 (26/12/08)
Apologies if already started.
This+ Stoke is perhaps one of the most crucial double headers I can remember for many a year.
Pompey are the team most likely to plummet - shame we couldn't play them after the transfer window - so we need something - I'm far from optimistic about us against Stoke (typical West Ham home loss in my 35 years experience)
Anything less than 4 points from tehse two games is pants!
Team
Green
Neill - Davenport - Upson - Ilunga
Behrami - Collison - Parker - Boa Morte
Cole - Bellamy

Re: Portsmouth v West Ham United - Match Thread
Team ~ 11 battlers. I have now accepted that we are now in a relegation dog fight and that is what our season has now be reduced to We now have to forget all about playing football and just roll our sleeves up and adopt a no thrills, they shall not pass attitude to each and every match from now on right up until 6.00pm on the last day of the season. It shoudn't be pretty to watch and neither should is it be intended as such. We must not make any mistakes on the pitch, take whatever chances come our way and just battle all over the pitch to grind out a result, any result. We now cannot either afford the distraction of an F A Cup run this season either. We must now just concentrate on survival and not run the risk if a fixture backlog, or risk of injuries to key players. In a relegation scrap - it's war and everything has to go into the war effort. Once we are clear and we are mathematically safe from relegation, then we can relax and play a bit of football again, but not until then. Zola must pick 11 players, whoever they are who can do this.

As long as we play like we have agianst Chelsea, Villa, and liverpool.

to not have cole playing away from home is suicidal, you don't even have him travelling to the south coast,
laughable

Cole current from dosn't deserve a place in the squad. And Tristan deserves a chance.sicknote wrote: you don't watch us away from home do you

However, I would have givern him half an hour in the second half, and started with Sears.

cole was superb in our last away game, but because cech made a world class save he's a **** and a useless one, cole gives more to the shape of our team than any other player with the set up and game plan we have especially away from home, but that means nothing these days

He had a good game against chelsea, but apart from that, he hasn't played well.sicknote wrote: you know next to f*** all too

He does give shape to our team. But he misses so many chances, that he shouldn't.
And this is the why, we are in the bottom 4.
Re: Portsmouth v West Ham United - Match Thread
It means if were depending on that carthorse we may as well pack up and go home now because were as good as f*cked.sicknote wrote: you know next to f*** all too

Holds the ball up well? Holding the ball up well includes getting it under control and then allowing play to catch you up before bring others into play. Not failing to control it and giving it to the opposition.
5 years contract, the c*nt must laugh himself to sleep everynight.

So Cole is soley responsible for us being in the bottom 4Happyhammer93 wrote:He had a good game against chelsea, but apart from that, he hasn't played well.

Re: Portsmouth v West Ham United - Match Thread
when does he not fail to control it, he didn't do that yesterday or at the bridge, the tv commentary at the bridge was full of compliments on his game, yet our fans **** him off every time he plays, because for some reason our fans seem to need a scape goat, they've hounded out boa morte and faubert now its cole turn again, this will be to the detriment of our team to destroy coles confidance but nothing i or anyone else on here will say will help or change it,RM6 wrote: It means if were depending on that carthorse we may as well pack up and go home now because were as good as f*cked.

So its our top scorers fault that we are in the bottom four???Happyhammer93 wrote:

Have no problem with Faubert, not a full back but responsible for most of our goals early doors.sicknote wrote: when does he not fail to control it, he didn't do that yesterday or at the bridge, the tv commentary at the bridge was full of compliments on his game, yet our fans c*** him off every time he plays, because for some reason our fans seem to need a scape goat, they've hounded out boa morte and faubert now its cole turn again, this will be to the detriment of our team to destroy coles confidance but nothing i or anyone else on here will say will help or change it,

He falls to control it almost everytime the ball is played to him, and when he does finally control it gives it away.
And how can a 6'4 striker not even hit the target with a header from 4 yards.
Oh yeah, it's because he's total ****.

Re: Portsmouth v West Ham United - Match Thread
If our top scorer has only scored 3 when he could have, easily had 6 or 7.Essex bill wrote: So its our top scorers fault that we are in the bottom four???
Bellamy, will start to hit the back of the net, more often, if he can stay fit.
And when ashton, comes back we will be finding the back of the net more often.
So, its' not totally Cole's fault, but mainly his fault, in my opinion.
