Boa morte even had a half decent game
Irons!!![/quote]
He was nothing short of brilliant. Looked very bright and every attack went through him.
Looked to drive forward at every oppurtunity and is he was more selfish im sure he would have had a few goals.
The way he tracks back and tackles and just puts himself about the place is one of the main reasons we performed so well today.

I think Glen Johnsons red card got more air time than our highlights did

I thought they would mention the youngsters coming through at least
Just watching football first and Tomkins and Stanislas both being interviewed

I cant stop smiling. I can't remember when I last felt this good over west ham. In fact, I don't think I have. What a day.

Re: West Ham United V Sunderland Match Thread
The sad fact about football these days...how MOTD is run
When they do an International game or when a WC comes along...they always go on about lack of youngsters coming through, yet we gave them a great chance to highlight our two and what happens. Lets all have a **** about the foriegners players for soulless teams run by over defensive managers.
Never has a show been so much up its own arse and not delivered for years

Re: West Ham United V Sunderland Match Thread
Thought Tristan didn't have a bad game.. He looked a lot fitter than he's been before. I think he even outpaced someone at one point?!
Boa Morte was excellent throughout and good to see hes getting support at last (I've always defended him, even when he was going through that rough patch). Some people going a bit OTT though.. He was good, not great. Tomkins had a better game. Had Cisse in his pocket the whole game. Looks very good at playing the slightly deeper sweeping role behind Matty.
Dyer looked positive when he came on. We'll need a decent cameo from him against spurs especially since we'll be away from home and will need his pace on the counter.
Green looked good. Caught when he should of and punched when he should of. He doesn't seem too confident about getting the england number 1 shirt judging by his reaction to the crowd
Di Michele put in another good shift for the team. He didn't score but had a part in the stanislas goal IIRC. No need to carry on calling him Di Crapele or Di sh*thead or whatever people were calling him. Hes got skill and he works hard for the team.

Seeing how depleted we were, i think it was a superb performance & result...
Di Michele MOTM for me closely followed by LBM with Tomkins & Neill not far behind & neither Stanislas, Upson or Green..

With the front six that took to the field I expected very little tbh. In the circumstances it was a very pleasing performance. Hats off to the young lads who are continually having an impact.

Agree with that. Best Result of the season for me but lets get Parker back for Sat
Re: West Ham United V Sunderland Match Thread
Noble MOM for me, thats what we need to see him doing, thought his dead ball crosses were better today
Tristian did well as did LBM-another assist and unselfish
Neil, Green, Upson, Ilunga-usual decent performances, Spector and DDM did well enough,
Although Noble, LBM and for his standards Tristian did well the highlight has to be Tomkins and Stanislas, These have have excellent potential, just pray Payne, Sears, Spence, Widdowson and Stech can all follow them two, Stanislas has a bit to go but feel with Zola and Clarke he'll be just fine and for me Tomkins is Upsons better partner
Only 1 thing i think Tomkins did wrong, which wasnt fully his fault, was went Cisse got the ball as well as time behond him and spector in 1st half but he was looking to play him offside unaware Ilunga and Upson were keepin him onside but fortunatly we got a decent keeper (was going wide anyway lol) and was too far wide left
mega chuffed with the result, lets hope wigan get truley thumped
ps-cheers Yossi

Nah, let's have a bit of ambition, a draw keeps the gap on Everton for 6th catchable and even Villa are not out of sight if they lose to man u later. :lol:afcwhufc wrote:

Two well taken goals, lots of energy from Stanislav in particular, who made a very impressive debut. Even Tristan, looks to be improving. Good result and very pleased
