This one is winnable.

Our defence is still excelling but we need to work out our forward options..

Due to Villa now being out of the race for a champions league place, I think we may have a chance of winning this. And to be honest, we need to win this game if we want to finish 7th. The front wheels are getting way too close for comfort now.

Indeed. Much as I'd have bitten your hand off for survival and very probably a top ten (at least) finish this season back in about october, right now nothing would irk me more than those c**** beating us to that UEFA cup spot.

1st half of the season they were the spunkiest team in the league, but their luck seems to have finally run out. Can't see them getting much out of Everton tomorrow, which will mean 10 games since a win in all comps (7 in the prem).

Having said all that, we know what happens when a team/player on a bad streak needs a boost...

1-0 Irons (Milner og deflected off Lucas Neill 78 mins)

Can't wait for this one: We should be fine if we stick with the back four which has played so well together in recent games.
We should also not allow Tristan anywhere near the squad again. As our strikers are not doing much at the moment anyway I would go with only one striker and five in midfield (one midfielder in a free role, just behind the striker), so we can at least create a lot of the chances (of wchih hopefully we will convert one or two or three).

So my ideal lineup would be:

Green
Neill Upson Tomkins Ilunga
Boa Morte Noble Parker Stanislas
Dyer
Di Michele

Subs: Lastuvka, Lopez, Collins, Payne, Savio, Sears, Hines

I can't see it myself, They got Carew, Agbumlahor, we have Tristan and DDM.

it will be like the game against Tottenham I reckon, hopefully i'm wrong of course.

If Parker and Kovac are back we might have a chance on the other hand, we need to get the ball to Stanislas more.

This is what i was thinking yesterday, why play players that aint got no future at the club, I think Savio is stronger that he looks, good balance so he wont get pushed around too much.

I might be able to contribute to this thread a little because I'm going to be in attendance. I "owe" a Villa supporting friend a Match as he came to City with me once. I'll be in the Home End with him but literally cheering no-one.

Should be a good tie. You're both doing well in the Premiership this season so it could be a competitive Match.

Almost inclined to go 4-2-4 for this one - with four out and out pace/footballers players up front. Can't see the point of Tristan.

Green
Neill:Tomkins:Upson:Ilunga
Parker: Kovac
Boa Morte: Dyer: DDM: Stanislas

Rely on pace and movement - Noble and Saveloy on at about 60 .

Villa have an appalling defence.

I agree, I wonder how fit Dyer is now as he looks such a class above when he came on yesterday, we improved alot.

Dyer could do a Job up front also.

I think the youngsters getting a few games towards the end of the season is the way to go as it will make the squad stronger next season.

Get all the kids playing while our top players are out, Stanislas, Savio, Sears and Tomkins of course.

Bajner should be given a chance instead of Tristan for sure.

Has Bajner even started a reserve game yet... let alone being included in the proper game

Its hard to judge who should be playing without knowing who is fit... but if Kovac and Parker are back I would expect to see:

Green

Neill
Tomkins
Upson
Iljunga

Noble
Parker
Kovac
LBM

Tristan
DDM
