Aston Villa 1 West Ham Utd 1 (18/04/09)Moderator: Gnome Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadLongneck'd , I hosted a box in the Trinity road stand 3 or 4 boxes down from from you in line with the goal .
our box was 8 hammers and 2 that were Man u and only there for the grub and booze . The next box down from us was also all hammers , It was weird , but great , sitting through the game in the away section having bubbles drifting past us every so often . great amount of noise coming from our lot opposite , and IMO the few rousing minutes of C&B army help raise the tempo of the game . I thought whilst at the game there were many cases of sloppy passing and no cohesion to our play especially when approaching the last third of the pitch , having said that it looked a lot better on football first . If we had scored one of the chances in the first 5 minutes , we could have gone on to boss the game . that said I would have taken the 1 point if offered at 3pm . I had a few words with Joe Calzagi , I met him in the passage way after the game and came over as a very genuine sort of guy .
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadThought we were more than value for the point..
Great day out and had a right laugh on the train back from witton to new st Tristan is so very poor, i would like to see savio have a go up front,oh and dyer to start next week! Bring on the rent boys
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadJoe Calzagi was two boxes down, & apparently jumped all over the place when Villa Scored. Strange team to support, coming from South Wales

If asking for his autograph is putting him straight, then yes I scored a TKO

quote] I was with my brother yesterday, & we remarked at the time, how it took us back to the Forest semi for a while (even if we was on the other side of the pitch then)
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadI had a great day in the trinity stand the passing was poor throughout -thought noble was good and when the teenagers came on we were all over them lets hope totts lose today
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadWith such a depleated lineup, I was very please with the performance. It was a fluid game in spots, and the Hammers had their chances to win it.
Ratings R.Green 7 Some important stops J.Tomkins 7 Another step forward, just dont let him shoot at open goals H.Illunga 6 A story of 2 halfs. Linked well with Stanislas M.Upson 5 Second best against Carew. His most disapointing performance in claret and blue J.Collins 4 Injury halted any chance to make an impact L.Neill 6 Fine Going forward, Young had him in his back pocket L.Boa Morte 8 Fine performance. Really relaxed, with a clear head J.Stanislas 7 Made Chances, and will continue to develop M.Noble 6 Confusing how he can be so incisive, and so lethargic D.Tristan 4 Would have been 3 only for his goal poaching skills D.Di Michele 4 The Di Michele of old. Back to the ball, with no real incive touch K.Dyer 6 Absent for first half, began to take control in the second S.Nsereko 6 Flashs of what he can do F.Sears 5 Won the crucial corner, and was willing to make a nuisance of himself

We really do have some know nothing fans ~ they're an embarrassment. Firstly snails are eaten by the French, and EVERYONE knows you don't put them in Paella. I despair, I really do.
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadSeems as though my Football First didn't record. Does anybody know of a torrent?
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadI was in the lower yesterday and does anyone know why they didnt sell beer?

Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadSat in Q2 yesterday.
From a neutral point of view it was a cracking game of football. Fom a West Ham point of view, it was sooooo frustrating. We could have been 2 up before they scored. It amazes me how many chances we have but no-one is really prepared to take a shot on. Tristan was getting some deserved abuse throughout, but he came through for us in the end, thank ****. LBM was busy and other than the back pass, I felt Noble had a good game. Upson did a job and Niel pitched in as well once Collins went off. It wasn't one of DDMs better performances but I don't think he's a bad as some on here think. His deft touches are sometimes sublime. I will agree though that there's no venom in his shooting ability. Freddie coming on seemed to inject something and I thought he did well. The lino on our side was a complete prick but the ref & other lino missed a stonewall penalty so we can't complain too much. Our support was immense. Some good banter with the Villa fans, too: '1-0, we don't need to sing' was a good come back to our '1-0 and you still don't sing'. Anyone know why they escorted the one guy out early on?. He didn't seem to do anything untoward as far as I saw. The 'special' Villa fan at the end offering everyone out was funny as ****. It was good to meet Laffers in the pub before the game and a few people enquired about my salmon 1900 replica top too. I don't think they were chadders either.. All in all, a great day out.
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadThey didn't just escort him out - they handcuffed him.
The biggest asshole I saw yesterday was the one who came into the ladies loo at half time and pissed on the floor in full view of the queue, because the queue in the gents was too long. Not a kid, either. ****ing pig.

At least you wouldn't have to remove the Spinal Cord, the French don't have one
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match Thread
But I thought that what he was for, goal poaching. Seem he can do nothing right, runs his ass off and sets up goals but doesnt score, ****. Does very little, scores, ****. The Di Michele of old? No touch ? had a quality touch, a number of times I saw a smart back heel almost put us in. How good do people want loan and one-year strikers to be?
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match Thread
When has he run his ass off and set up goals? If you mean the goal he passed to Noble who was right next to him against Blackburn, well done to him for that, he hardly ran his ass off in that or any other game. He can and did something right, he scored a goal with a good bit of poaching. That doesn't change the fact he was otherwise awful and did a great job of ruining most of our attacks. As for your comments about his touch...hmmm.... 4 was a spot-on rating IMO. Given the promise we saw from Sears when he was on I'd like to see him given another go next time out.
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match Thread
At home to Sunderland, absolutely run his ass off and played a large part in both goals but slated, scores and it is lucky. Poaching is what he is though and if he does that every game then.... Do you think Di Michele has a poor touch then, watch the goal of the month again, or numerous goals he has been involved in. Has the best touch in our team, wonderful to watch at times. And 4 was not really a spot on rating when Savio got a 6. Was on for 10 minutes and that was long enough to bend a shot out to the corner flag.
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match Thread
True.....
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadTristan... 4?
Beggars belief, it really does.
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match Thread
I didn't say he was lucky with the goal. I congratulated him for it - it was a great piece of reaction, but I also pointed out it shouldn't blind us from his overall performance. I didn't say Di Michele has a poor touch either. I think he has a good touch. I didn't even mention Di Michele. I didn't comment on any other ratings, just Tristan's, which as I said was fair and I stand by. He did play reasonably against Sunderland I'll grant you that. Hardly was a great performance though, and nowhere near enough to prove to me he is anything close to Premier League or even Championship standard. I suggest we give Sears more of a go as he at least is fitter, faster and younger.
Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match ThreadDodger, you were tristand mate, give it up! I'd have loved to have seen your face when that goal went in
to be fair, Mr T looked very very happy and relieved to put that one away. also pleasantly surprised at how sharp freddie looked when he came on.
