I think the team posted atthe start of the thread will be our strongest eleven. think he will start with Diamante on the bench again, playing our strongest eleven leaves us a bit of a problem if we need to change the game neither Noble or Stanislas are good enough to do that.

Do we?

We never beat a top six side throughout the whole of last season.

In my opinion, it'd be worth having Scotty Parker man marking Steven Gerrard for this game

That's what I was thinking Tel but Behrami as well as Scotty ganging up on him.

mmmmmmm I feel young Mark Noble will still grab the ball :(

I think we need a change in that area.

The Diamanti fella looks like he's got the character for pens. And the left peg.

Noble has to be overuled, we have better options now from set pieces and I think Diamati would be a better penalty taker.

I personally would like to see Illunga become a penalty taking legend a la Ray Stewart or Julian Dicks.

Step forward Herita, your destiny awaits.

I see no ships, only hardships ahead for Saturday, if we get anything on Saturday I will run stark bollack naked down Barking Road shouting " I love Millwall" ..............maybe.

As That Cross the David fella said earlier, under Zola I feel we are not set up for those sort of shocks of beating the top 4 anymore, likewise when we play a league 1/2 side in the cup or a bog standard PL team we very rarely cock up now. We are that mid table PL side, how exciting 8-)

Feeling quite optimistic about this game. We haven't scored in 2 games so that means we should score sooner rather than later and our defence has looked good. Also Liverpool have not been consistent this season so I think we can win this game 1 - 0.

If possible, we need to stifle this mob as much as we can.

I'd go...

---------------------------Green------------------------
-----Faubert---Tomkins---Upson---Ilunga-----
-------------------Parker--------Kovac---------------
-------------Behrami---------------Collison---------
-------------------------Diamanti-----------------------
----------------------------Cole---------------------------

That'd enable us to have either Parker or Kovac constantly on Gerrard's case. I think Spurs did it to him with Palicios.

Noble's got to be in there.

Kovac I would withdraw... Parker and Behrami I would stick with.

Diamanti, Hines and Cole? Why not...

I think not.

I honestly believe he completely slows our midfield down. The fella's like a snail.

The formation and team I posted above looks to be one that could really get stuck into the top sides in the league.

Agree with that Tel. And playing Kovac & Parker is not necessarily playing with two "holding" players - Kovac can screen the back four, but Parker can be the mobile ball-winner. Different roles.

Right this will be my first game of the season and we tend to score on my first game of the season (except the Man City/Elano debacle)

Green
Faubert Upson Tomkins Illunga(if fit)
Behrami Parker Collison
Jimmy Alice
Cole

Quality team that (on paper)
