Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
That would be my line up assuming everyones fit but i would play the diamond with diamante playing up front
or just behind cole, it's a pretty impressive line up to be fair and if we can play that team for the majority of the season
we will finish top ten easily imo, given our injury record this is very unlikely to happen sadly!

Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
i agree with the thread's creators line up, although doubt zola will pick it + doubt all of them will be fit. but harsh on hines who played really well 2day yet i think we need to have 5 midfielders against pool to try nulify gerrard, etc. + he could be useful coming on for diamanti / jiminez 65/70 min mark with his pace.

Forget the result, if the Adonis of footie (FT) plays, I'll be happy.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
I like the formation but I'm not sure GFZ will be that positive against a top4 side, even at home. As others have said, its a bit harsh on Hines but I'd like to see Jiminez and Diamante floating about behind Cole.
I like your line up because the attacking players are all comfortable on the ball and we should cause them problems. Would live to see Ilunga again.

I'm pretty sure he hasn't.Scratchy wrote:Has Cole ever scored more than one goal in a game in his West Ham or even entire senior career?
Anyways
---------------------Green--------------------
Faubert---Tomkins------Upson-------Ilunga
-------------Parker------Behrami-------------
Diamanti------------Noble--------------Jiminez
---------------------Cole-----------------------
Can't see us getting anything from the game though.

As I have said, I only do it because someone else would do it worse, at least I put some effort in.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
They did'nt look much against the spuds, would rather be positive than not and the record against the sky four is not great, but we're all used to being the underdogs. The team needs some time to settle, behrami is a quality player and diamanti looked promising today.
Hope is a good thing.
West Ham 2 (Cole 33 Noble 76) Liverpool 1 ( Benayoun 80)

3-1 loss.
Sorry to be a pessimist but I can't see us getting anything from this game.
They beat us last season without hardly breaking a sweat.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
Changes need to be made to the line up big time so be more enterprising Zola. Drop Parker and Noble. They need to be told their level of performances are just not acceptable and let them fight to regain their places by scrapping in the reserves for a while
Green, Faubert, Da Costa, Upson, Ilunga, Behrami, Kovac, Diamante, Collison, Cole, Franco
Subs. Korucz, Tomkins, Jimenez, Hines, Dyer
I don't think we'll win , but we might just get something from this game with this line up, but we must show more ambition and start the game with a bit more fighting spirit and raise our game and keep up the tempo throughout. We will get turned over if we do anything less
Prediction 1-3, or maybe 2-2 with this line up
