To be honest, I couldn't give a monkeys that we lost. I'm only 26 ffs and I've seen so much **** from West Ham that I just come to expect it now. Its been worse in the past because we actually had some kind of expectation. Now we've got a load of skint icelanics and the only people we seem to have any hope in are the youngsters that have come through the academy who are still cutting their teeth. We might stay up, we might go down, whatever the outcome this season is just gonna be a whole barell of meh.

Benny the Ball wrote:Lot of knee jerk reactions on the game and it is quite obvious the team are not getting any breaks at the moment. Overall the performance was reasonable, we were the better side and had far greater possession, playing much the better football than Stoke who really are a Blackburn style side.

Its getting there, but we should be getting points from these types of games.

Btb
Knee jerk? Getting there?

Hopefully in about 6 months we might be "there" and get a win against someone.

ummm....and our next four matches are...

West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola:
"I have seen the incident involving Robert Huth and Matthew Upson on the video and it should have been a red card.

"I thought the referee had seen it, so I was surprised that he wasn't sent off.

"It was another tough match but we did not deserve to lose.

"The performance was encouraging and I can only tell the players to continue as the corner is close to being turned."

Stoke manager Tony Pulis:
"I'll have a look at the Robert Huth incident and if he's done anything wrong then we'll deal with it in house.

"It was a good performance. We knew West Ham would have a lot of the ball so we had to try and keep our shape and wait for the gaps and holes to open up.

"Then we looked dangerous on the counter-attack and we could have scored a couple more in the last half an hour.

"Beattie and Fuller were a handful up front, but it was a good performance all round and Shawcross's block on Cole was the turning point."

I like your optimism but I think we need a bit of devine intervention. Earthquake off the North sea coast creates a Tsunami that takes out the cities of Sunderland and Hull and swine flu does for the entire Tittenham team.
Harsh perhaps but possible our best hope.

It's obvious that CC can't play as a lone striker and everyone goes on about us having no other options. However, we have Nouble who so far hasn't been tried (hey, we're desperate) and Sears is at Palace so why haven't we recalled him or did Colin put some sort of clause on the loan agreement to say that we couldn't.

This is the most obvious failing of the team. Zola's 4-3-3 is really a 4-5-1 hence Stoke not being able to get much of the ball. The problem is when Cole gets the ball there is a lack of support he receives from a generally deep and one paced midfield. We have no pace anywhere on the park. We look a much better side when Hines is on, albeit he also has a tendency to drop back to much.

Franco is little more than cover for Cole. Nouble and Sears are not ready (Sears never will be). Most on here were very dismissive of Terry Dixons appearance against Valencienne, but if he ever does get match fit, I have no doubt he is the answer we are looking for....a proper goal-scoring, talented striker.

The other major change from last year, is at right back. Faubert does not fully deserve the criticism he receives, but Neill is a huge loss as Captain. He may not have been a great right back, but he was the best Captain we have had for many years.

I think we need just a slice of luck to change it round , just like when we won up at Blackburn a couple of seasos ago when the goal was given as Tevez stopped it on the line, our season changed after that game.
Ive seen all this before and i dont know if we will stay up or go down but i know its not sorted out after 8 games , all aboard the West Ham rollercoaster dont get on if you havnt got the bottle to take a hard season.
I have and always have had in the past, i will be there next Sunday and also next season whatever division we are in and i wont miss some of you who wont be joining me.
