Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
Behrami calf injury according to the radio would make him doubtful.

Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
Id say Franco's contribution will guarantee him a spot.
Im more concerned with the defence. They have been leaking goals at a rate of knots, and with the departure of Linda, Lucas, Collins and Ferdinand in a 16 month period, it is unsuprising. As such, I wouldnt mind shaking up that leaky defence with a start for Gabbidon. The Right back position is also a worry.

Behrami----------------------------------------Noble---------------------------------------Parker----------------------------------------------------------Collison
----------------------------------------------------Cole--------------------------------------------Franco--------------------------------------------------------------
Krutz,Tomkins,Faubert,Jiminez,Quashie,Hines,Diamanti
If Behrami is gone, then I would suggest Diamanti.
With Villa's defensive setup, I think we should play as much on the ground as possilbe.

Rock and a hard place for the RB slot, got to go for the win, more attacking threat (I think) with Faubert.
If Parker is available, I think he is, then he's back in.
And try Diamante up front supporting Cole.
Green
Faubert Tomkins Upson Ilunga
Behrami Noble Parker Collison
Cole Diamante

GK: Green
RB: Spector
LB: Ilunga
CB: Tomkins
CB: Upson
DM: Parker
RM: Behrami (if unfit then Stanislas)
LM: Collison
AM: Noble
CF: Cole
CF: Franco
Subs:
Kurucz
Gabbidon
Faubert
Kovac
Hines
Diamanti
Stanislas (Jiminez if Behrami out)
I'b be looking at Franco and Noble being off early in the 2nd half - Hines and Diamanti on
I think a draw is the best we can get and I expect us to concede from a set play...

Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
My team, for what is worth, would be as follows:
GK: Green
RB: Spector
CB: Gabbidon
CB: Upson
LB: Illunga
DM: Parker
RM: Behrami
CM: Collison
LM: Jiminez
FW: Hines
FW: Cole
Think this is a game for Hines up top with Dunne and Collins at the back for them. Behrami will need to double up and help Spector with Young down the left. Would feel more comfortable with Gabbidon at the back myself. Stanislas and Diamanti as impact players in 2nd half.
2-0 win for us methinks (I had a draw v Sunderland today so im pretty confident!)

Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
Is Gabbidon fit or not ??
If so he has to replace Tomkins, especially with Agbonlahor..
Carew will cause Upson all sorts of ****ing problems too...
However, i still fancy us to win by the odd Goal, in 3...

Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
First game in a while for me, can't wait for it. Im hoping we can pull this one out the bag after two decent results, maybe a game were we get behind them could win us the game.
Even thought 2-2 is looking like a good bet at the moment

Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
if Gabbidon is fit why not play him at right back, he's very capable of playing there and shores up the defense without knocking tomkins confidence?
Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
I've got a good feeling about this one for some reason, reckon we will win 3-1

Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
Only saw the highlights but Tomkins was not the one who failed to close the cross for the equaliser (Upson), or failed to track the forward on the goal line (Spector). Can't comment on the rest of the game as I didn't see it all, but he didn't seem any worse than the other 3 defenders.

Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
Dont really want to jump on the anti noble bandwagon but the fact is the kid is not playing well and contributing nothing to
the team at the minute so he would make way for diamante with parker returning, franco has impressed me lately but i would
be very tempted to play hines against dunne and collins, rightback? take your pick as ones equally as poor as the other and the
thought of ashley young running at either of these two doesnt fill me with confidence, having said that, this is a game we can win
if were at it for the full 90 , 2-1 to the hammers!

Re: Hammers v Villians match thread
i'd go with:
Green
TGV, matty, Tomka, Illunga(even though he's still not playing that well imo)
Pep, Jimmy, Parker, Collison
Cole, Franco,
Would swap nobes for jimmy because although i love the boy dearly, his second halfs in the last two games were shocking, if he plays he needs to produce a second like his first halfs, and stand up and organise the midfield when parkers not around, cause lets face it kovac isn't going to do it
