Re: West Ham Utd v Hull City: match thread
Neither were his best performances in a claret 'n blue shirt for me, but I'd bet more money on him keeping us up than any other striker in the team, he's a genuine class act & I think has rightfully higher expectations put on him because of that...JBs Caravan wrote:Even though there were lots of positives today with attacking fullbacks, hard working midfielders,
and excellent first touch by Franco, what did you overall think of Cole?,i thought his work rate along with
his performance v Brum, was average @ best, and he is just not putting himself about
I for one believes he owes Faubert a huge drink, set him up twice now for tap ins
Personally, if I was Capello, I'd be taking him to the WC.

Hull were never as good a test as Birmingham so it was reasonably easy today. Diamanti and Upson for me were both excellent. Some will not agree, and I understand he might be carrying an injury, but Carlton Cole could do a lot for more for himself and the team. His positioning is still very poor at times and he makes no attempt to run off his marker so that the ball can come through to him from midfield. If he wants to be selected for the England squad he has to do a lot more in my opinion. Another excellent save from Green. A real test of how far we have progressed will come on Tuesday.

Although i am really happy with the last 2 wins and even if we do stay up i just cant get the thought of g&s saying the team will be 75% different next season ,with all the high wage earners going which will be all our good players, dont get me wrong i would rather keep the acadamey players because they are the clubs history. If thats the case we are going to go through this again next season.

Brilliant result, it seems like we finally had a game where everything just clicked.
Long may it continue.

Good performance today playing the worst team I have seen this season at UP.

After 2 months out at his age, is it any wonder he faded?Marky wrote:Franco does give the ball away and fades badly after an hour does no one else see that
Some of his control and positional awareness in the first half was pretty fine from where I was sitting.

Sad part about that Matt is that Hull paid 5 million quid for him, and if we are to believe the RedTops, many more were lining up at the transfer deadline, trying to do the same thing....Matt of iron wrote:Good performance today playing the worst team I have seen this season at UP.

You have to laugh at bog standard players going for millions of pounds.
The bloke's first 5 things consisted of 3 misplaced passes and 2 miscontrols.

Re: West Ham Utd v Hull City: match thread
Think I might be inclined to tweak the line up on Tuesday and go 4-5-1
Get as many bodies behind the ball as humanly possible and try to frustrate them, as you know they'll be as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof...Important to start well......
That bloody 65 yard chip would have been a consideration for a goal of the season had it gone in....
The man is a bloody raving looney....but our bloody raving looney.....
