West Ham Utd 1 Tottenham Hotspur 0 (25/09/10)
Have we actually beaten this mob since we deprived them of CL football in the week before the FA Cup? Without looking it up, my first thought is that we haven't.
Hopefully next week we can reverse the trend of repeated defeats to this mob. I've got a horrible feeling that they've beaten us at home 3 times out of the last 4 matches.
As much as they are hardly ripping up trees this weekend (at home to Wolves), I hope we can really create some kind of encouraging atmosphere for our team off the back of the Stoke result. Spurs are weakened in one or two departments.
Now is the time West Ham. Is there a single team against whom it'd be sweeter to get our first victory?

Re: WHU -v- THFC
if ever there was a game that we needed the crowd to be the 12th man and show patience, passion and support this would be it. Drop Cole in the cup to motivate him for this one IMO.

Over the past ten years, our record has been crap against Spurs. One of the wins came when Spurs were almost as bad as ourselves (2002/2003), and we needed Rob Green to bail us out is 2007 with a fantastic penalty save against Defoe. Hopefull this will all change !

As good a result as that was today, that side will not beat the front wheels.
They like to play football and get men forward but they will leave space and will give us chances which will require less grafters and more ball players so: Behrami and Piq OUT - Dyer and (hopefully) Fritzelsdaughter IN. I'd also like to see Barerra get a run out at some point.
I think we have a decent shout of a draw...

Re: WHU -v- THFC match thread
Another point next week against Tottenham would really see us gain a bit of momentum, plus some confidence.
Ben Haim was a bit unlucky to have come into the team (and looked quite good) just before he had to drop out for Yom Kippur.
Da Costa got his chance, took it, and should be kept in the side.
I think the team kinda picks it itself really, the only decisions are whether to keep Gabbs at left back and whether to put Dyer in for Behrami.
Even if Tommy H is fit I don't think we should disrupt the Parker and Noble partnership just yet, he will have to make do with a place on the bench.

Barrera in for Piq and Da Costa with Upson at the back. That boy has the leap of a salmon and was really good today (their goal excepted). Maybe Hizt will be fit?

A hatrick or 4 goals from Scotty Parker should see us get us the points

Re: WHU -v- THFC match thread
Tough to drop anyone from the starting line up of today really... if Ilunga is fit he will no doubt come back in (even though Gabbs did a job) but other then that, injury permitting the line up will be the same.
Back four need to be as organised as today. Noble, Parker and Behrami need to rattle them and draw them into a battle. We need to try and keep the game tight then use Dyer and or Barrera as options from the bench in the last half hour. Another tough game but we are showing promising signs and must be due a result??!!
