Blackpool 1 West Ham Utd 3 (02/02/11)

Post by jevs »

This wednesday, 7.45 KO. Long journey for many hammers fans especially for an evening kick off.

Wonder if we'll see any of the new boys on display.

Oh....and am i the only person on the planet who thinks Ian Holloway is a grade A cock. The bloke is lapping up all this "he wears his heart on his sleeve" and "he's a breath of fresh air" *****. he's starting to really get on my tits now.

2-0 to the Ironz :crest:

gotta agree with ya on Holloway i was looking forward to him being in the premiership but i think he made himself look like a bit of a cock saying he would resign if he was fined because of playing a weakened team he must of knew there would only be one outcome after he said that.

a win here and that brings Blackpool right in the dog fight, lets hope Charlie Adam is sold to the bin dippers to give there confidence one hell of a kick in

I think we will lose this one but beat Birmingham and West Brom. I hope Keane and Ba bang them in and prove me wrong, maybe we can score more than Upson can give away

your right he is in the papers with his ''quotes'' a bit too much nowadays ...... but hes got a team of average players to perform to a high level every week , they are all motivated foer the full 90 mins . all probably on less wages than a couple of our big players......... he must be doing something right. if only avram had 20% of his passion....................

The next three games are absolutely massive in our quest for survival. Blackpool, Birmingham and West Brom.

We have to win - no more excuses.

I can see this being another Newcastle away. A midweek away game at a team who we feel we are on a par, if not better than, and we get smashed.

Hope i'm wrong, 3-0 Blackpool.

Snap Adam in half and then score more goals than them.

17 of their squad are out of contract at the end of the season .That , and one decent player who won't be there on Wednesday , are the reasons why they are perfroming so well .

Their players know their best chance of staying in the PL and getting some decent money will be to have a blinding season with Blackpool and try and join another PL club in the summer .

Shup Pinkie, they are playing well because they are well coached. Not everything is about money.

With you on the starters.

Bench - I'd include Obinna for Hines, maybe Reid on Gabbidon.

They are well organised and have a simple but effective game plan .

And most of them will be out of work in June unless they prove they are worth a contract somewhere .

Very good eam/bench IMO.
Give Keane 30 mins, and give Ba some more time to reach full fitness.

You are bang on the money pink Palermo re the starting line up I'd go 442 and start oneil on the right and piq and keane up front. Keanes fit, hungry and plenty to prove I'd give ba a run out for the last 20 though.

Views and comments from a Blackpool fan on the upcoming game, plus other bits:

How has the season been shaping up so far?
Started brilliantly, tailed away a bit since New Year with 6 defeats in 7, but all in all we are enjoying it, as I suppose we probably should.

What are your expectations for this season? Have they changed from day one?

At the start it was to try and enjoy it, but as the points have stacked up I have started to believe we can do it. Still a long way to go though.

Who do you think is your most important player(s)?

Don't believe the Adam hype. David Vaughan makes our team.

Your worst player(s)?

Hard to say as they are all crucial, though if I was being very very harsh, I would probably say Jason Euell. Not really cut for this level anymore.

Do you have a particular memory of any previous meeting between our clubs?

Being 19 years old, I do not.

Any young up and coming players in the squad that we might not know about?
Tom Barkhuizen can't stop scoring in the youth and ressies, and Liam Thomsett looks a belting prospect.

What sort of line-up will be put out against us?
Kingson

Eardley
Evatt
Cathcart
Baptiste

Adam (If he is still with us)
Vaughan
Grandin

Varney
Campbell
Taylor-Fletcher

If Adam goes, replace him with Sylvestre.

Do you have any favourite/best chant(s) and perhaps any that require an explanation?
None that require an explanation, but Don't Wanna Go Home has been an anthem since Scunny away last season.

Where do you expect Blackpool to finish in the League?
Being a Pool fan I expect the worst, so I still expect us to go down, but I have every faith that we can stay up.

Where do you expect West Ham to finish in the League?
Down I'm afraid. Don't rate your manager, don't rate your keeper, don't rate your back four, much of your midfield, or your strike force.

Which West Ham player will you fear the most?
Scott Parker

Care to predict the score?
2-1 Pool, Campbell and Varney, Obinna for you.

What are your thoughts on the Olympic Stadium?
Couldn't give a flying rats **** to be perfectly honest with you.

What West Ham players would you like in your squad?
Parker, possibly Obinna on a good day.

What has been your highlight of the season so far?
Wigan away was special, being our first game back in the top flight, and Liverpool at home was incredible.

Jacobsen---Upson---Tomkins---Bridge

O'Neil---Noble---Parker---Obinna

--------------Cole---Keane----------

Bench: Boffin, Reid, Gabbidon, Spector, Barrera, Piquionne, Demba

We'd have alot going forward. Would look very dangerous on the attack. Blackpool are going to come at us, and with our defending, we need to shut them down and go forward and just attack. They don't have the best of defences either. I think if we defend properly, with the players we have available, we'll take 3 points here, and a clean sheet. Blackpool are not the best of sides at home. We'll take full advantage of that and take the win here...if all goes according to plan.

Prediction: Blackpool 0-2 West Ham

Would be a great start to three very important games.

Well that Blackpool fan is a ****ing idiot, clearly basing his opinion of Green on the world cup rather then his excellent form this year. :thdn:
