No it doesn't.

A 4-3-3 should turn into a 4-5-1 in defence.

Thing I like is we hit the back of the net 5 times ... yes 5 times!!! Can picture nthe criticism now if we had have missed those opportunities.

And at this time of the year I will take 5-1 with the scoreline that looks flattering than lose 1-0 and play brilliantly (especially if we can replicate it in the League).

In theory, yes. But with Demba Ba playing on the left of the front 3, it's not like you've got a player used to covering the full-back is it?

Really, with the formation we played last night, eith Hitz or Noble needs to drop in in front of Bridge when we're defending. Sears did a great job getting up and down to help Jacobsens yesterday, but he's been doing it for the last 3 months. Ba as an out-and-out striker can't be expected to just know how to play as left-midfielder.

As I've said, personally, against Liverpool, I'd like us to go in with two banks of 4, but that really means either playing Hitz on the left or Noble on the right and that's not an ideal scenario.

433 does not turn into 451 when West Ham play the system.
It turns into 415 as no one tracks back with any great enthusiasm
It is better, I feel, for us to be stacked up as 442 just to protect the back 4 a little as they look shaky to say the least
Opinions eh?

I'm loving the 'Demba Ba My Lord' song.

Its a shame nothing rhymes with Hitzlsperger.

We'll have to make do with whistling the great escape theme to him then.

not if the 2 dropping back are Demba Ba and Freddie Sears - with the best will in the world (which they were both showing on Monday) they are not good defensive midfielders

everyone quiet rightly praising Cols 2nd goal, but for me the vision of Noble to put it into that space was immaculate

Cole's second goal, when I saw the highlights, I thought they said it was Sears who picked out Cole.
