Yes , I'm with Jim on this one .
Work hard , 5 across the middle , defend from the front , and try to keep it to no more than 0-1 at 80 mins .
Then throw absolutley everything we have at them .By that stage Mancini will have 10 defensive minded players on the pitch - and we may get lucky and nick a penalty .
Who's our fittest forward looking player ? Might play Obinna up top on his own with a brief to harrass their midfield and backline .

10 defensive minded players! He's not that bad. There's just an emphasis on not losing.
There were posts on another thread tempting fate about Torres finally breaking his duck against West Ham. I should make it known that our own transfer window arrival (Edin Dzeko) is a striker who has yet to score in the Premiership.

Agreed btajim - if we played City twenty times in a row, I expect that we would lose 16 or so, draw a couple and maybe nick a solitary win. Over twenty games, City would show their class and depth. That sort of profile appears rationale considering both teams' respective performances this season. End of.btajim - mcfc wrote:
I must again stress to the "we're doomed" KUMBers that City are still very much work in progress. Admittedly, we're picking up results despite not playing as well as we can - but sides aren't being consistently steamrolled. Wigan put up one hell of a fight when we beat them 1-0 and, come this time of the season, anything can happen.
Except that we're not playing twenty games -- just one. None of us can predict that our match versus you lot won't end up with us nicking a draw, or, a 1-in-20 chance of nicking a win. That's the random nature of football -- a lucky (or unlucky) bounce, a slip here or there or some dodgy refereeing decisions can often appear to tip momentum in favour of one team or another.
Now, living in the real world, I think a win or a draw is unlikely for us. I don't care if West Ham lose to a better team, what I care about is that our players put up a fight each and every match. That's what I'm looking for. I'm sick of our boys putting on our shirts and acting like a bunch of overpaid, whiney tarts.
Now unlike some, I'm not placing the blame solely on our players, as I think most of us question the abilities of Silas Greenback (aka Grant) to put together a rationale game-plan tactics-wise, and most of us wonder what the dildo kings and their sidekicks are up to, too.
But, our players have the responsibility to put up a fight and make a match of it whenever we play. We did that last Saturday, and lost. Fair dos. I'm expecting the same when we play you lot.
Re: Man City vs West Ham Utd: match thread
I thought they were absolute class at our place and totally dominated. Not an exhilarating team but they will do more than enough to keep possession away from us. I suspect Balotelli will do a Torres and use our notorious hospitality to ailing forwards to help himself to a hat-trick.

Best team I have seen at Upton Park by far this season.
Very similar to the Chelsea result I reckon.

Perfect so far. Blackburn losing and Man City not looking great.
If we play like we did at Chelsea we'll get something from this game.
Come on.

I quite like Man City see their fans as abit like ours, hope that the money don't turn them into a plastic fanbase like Chelsea.
Where are people drinking before the game btw?
