Doncaster Rovers 0 West Ham United 1 (13/08/11)

Postby Essex 'Ammer12 on Sun Aug 07, 2011 3:19 pm

We need to bounce back from next week and I hope we have a new left back and striker by then.

For me, Parker and Piquionne out Collison and Carew/Cole in, and hopefully a couple of new signings.

Barrera in aswell. Sears was poor, and Barrera looked lively.

We definately need to win next week. Doncaster will semeingly be without Billy Sharp who's their best player after being carried off yesterday. I can't see Allardyce changing too much, I would think Sears would be dropped aswell. I can't imagine Carew playing from the start so quickly, but if we sign another striker next week we could see them start instead of Piquionne.

-----------------Green-----------------

O'Brien---Reid---Tonka---Ilunga

-----------------Parker----------------

Barrera-------Noble----------Taylor

-----------------Nolan------------------

------------------Cole-------------------

Looks negative and defensive, but I honestly don't think a pairing of Carew/Cole/Piqiuonne would work. They're all 'strong, bulky' kind of strikers, we need an out-and-out, pacey striker to accompany one of them up front. I think Nolan should support Cole as much as he can. Parker in DM because I thought, today, he lacked the cutting edge going forward, and is reliable to defend.

We need a proven striker, and quick.

agreed, the last thing we want to have to do even this early in the season is having to play catch up with the teams at the top that's why we really need all 3pts -

We need to sell Scotty and reinvest it all in the team IMO.

He seems to have lost something.

Agreed, I thought the moment we were relegated that we should sell Parker. Don't think we'll be able to move on as a team with him still in the sqaud, it'll always be about how Parker is the driving force of the team otherwise and tends to get players to rely on him rather than themselves.

IMO Collison is more creative than Scotty anyway and a player like him will be vital.

Sears should be replaced with Barrera for the Doncaster game, that is glaringly obvious.

Sharp and Hayter are out so they have no striker. If we cant beat Donny who Ipswich beat 0-6 away last season, then we dont deserve to be a premiership team.
Predicting a 0-5 white wash - Cole x2, Nolan, Taylor and Barrera

True but this is far more important we won't be winning that cup will we? We can win this league with a few more signings and we need to get points on the board asap.Lets get this done 2-0 win to us in this match,Cole>Piq in this match please.

I know its only the second league game but i think BFS has got to mix it up a bit.

I would go with;

--------------------------------------------GREEN-----------------------------------
O'BRIEN---------------TOMPKINS------------REID--------------ILLUNGA/ NEW SIGNING (DON'T THINK WE WILL BRING ONE IN THOUGH)
BARRERA----------------NOLAN---------------COLLISON-----------TAYLOR
-------------------------- --CAREW---------------HINES/NOUBLE/NEW SIGNING

In my opinion we have to play two up top and drop piq

We will do well not to underestimate Doncaster. They can play pretty decent football, especially at home. Football isnt played on paper, internationals and reputations mean nothing. We need to get over ourselves and show the opposition some respect as soon as possible if we are going to get out of the division at the first attempt. I think we will win. Just. 0-1
