Re: League Programme Cancelled At The Weekend?
I kind of agree, how could the police possibly justify all those plod being sent to all the football grounds around the UK taking up resources needed to keep these young f*ckwits in check.

I reckon London Games will have problems, think we'll be alright though..
Of course Millwall will go ahead, they'll just all be standing outside a Pub near the Ground taking Pictures of themselves being the Heroes of the of it all even though they're nowhere near any of the trouble & even though there would be then 50,000 OB on the Streets....

It's scary isn't it ?? :lol:il_martello_di_genovesi wrote:Another striker off injured tonight apparently, added to already a lot of injuries. If we don't beat these comfortably I will be majorly pissed off. Don't think there is anything wrong in expecting a win against a depleted Doncaster side.
Re: League Programme Cancelled At The Weekend?
The steam is fast running out of these riots, its only Wednesday. I think our match will definately go ahead.
Re: Doncaster Rovers vs West Ham United: match thread
We probably couldn't be playing them at a better time, what could possibly go wrong?

Don't seem to be any high risk games to me.
Spurs Everton maybe.
Football will also occupy the minds of some of these potential culprits.

Not really thinking about the games themselves, more about the number of police being drawn away from 'the front line'.
I know its only wednesday but i think there will be lull for few days while those arrested are charged and then bailed and then kick off again on friday.

Because they're low risk I would have thought the police presence wouldn't have been especially large - except maybe the Spurs game.

Re: Doncaster Rovers vs West Ham United: match thread
we need to treat them with respect ,there are not many easy touches in this division when we are 3 up is the time to get cocky. its gonna take a few games before we realy settle in this division its a totaly different ball game to the prem.
Re: Doncaster Rovers vs West Ham United: match thread
agree. they will be up for it and if we are at all complacent we'll get done again. Lose this one and suddenly the season looks a lot less healthy doesn't it?Hatcham Iron wrote:we need to treat them with respect ,there are not many easy touches in this division when we are 3 up is the time to get cocky. its gonna take a few games before we realy settle in this division its a totaly different ball game to the prem.

Doncaster will be bang up for this match, we can take nothing for granted. I'll take a 1-0 win but more importantly we need a professional performance where we show our class and some fight.
Re: Doncaster Rovers vs West Ham United: match thread
I don’t see Big Sam system changing for this one but I think he will/should make two changes.
The first for me is Barrera in for Sears and the second, Piquionne out and Cole in.
If we are playing this 4-5-1 system Nolan needs to get forward and link up with the front man. The gap between the Piq and the Midfield on Sunday at times was ridiculous.
I think a little more positivity from the midfield and a more creative winger should see us through this game.
Is Carew available? Good to bring on in the last 15. Their defenders won’t look forward to that after 75 minutes of football.
Is the Doncaster striker Sharp our for them?

I would really like to see Big Sam tell Nolan to play further up a bit in this game and let Parker and Noble get stuck in and win the ball.Nolan will be more useful in the final 3rd imo.

Now got a Ticket, Thanks Beckton
The new ground (Keepmoat Stadium) isn't bad to get to. Which pub/s are we meeting at?

Re: Doncaster Rovers vs West Ham United: match thread
to be honest as I've mentioned before, we were poor on the right with Sears and also up front with Piq so if BFS can make a big decision then surely he saw this and should change Piq for Cole and Sears for Barrera. Also I hope Noble starts to play well because he was out of sorts most of last season IMHO and he looked rubbish again last week. However I'm behind whoever goes out and plays on Saturday because thats my end of the deal - we all have to be behind these guys.

Did I not read that Carew has had no pre-season at all?
Why then are many on here putting him in their starting line-ups?
Not the sort of player that looks naturally fit to me.

Piq will start up top again, maybe a little midfield support will make him look better this time.
