........................Green........................

..O'Brien......Tomkins.....Reid.........GcM

.................Parker........Noble..............

..Collison..............Nolan..............Taylor.......

...........................Cole.............................

We need to win this game no excuses. (Can't see Cole starting as the club are actively touting him around behind his back so won't want him risking injury). But I would have him over PIQ.

Again, we have a far stronger side, on paper. In fact, the addition of Collision means our midfield is by far, the strongest ever fielded in the Championship.

I am not impressed that Sam has stuck with Piquionne in a 4-5-1 which proved so fruitless last week.

He came closest to scoring for us last week though. I think it's a difficult call, but there's a lot to be said for a bit of consistency in the starting line-up early in the season.

Cole on at HT if we haven't put the game away by then.

Good choice in replacing Sears with Collison. Hopefully Collison gets more involved in the game than Sears did. Piquionne didn't do a lot last week but I can see the logic in keeping him in the team. If we are trying to get rid of Cole, then you don't want your team playing to one players needs and style, only to then need to readjust a couple weeks latter. Not just about protecting him from injury.

I agree with Sam that Piq is our best striker. This proves we need to get a couple in AND SOON. Pardon?

Players need to know they can't be complacent and assume a place, but on the other hand too much chopping and changing is the last thing Allardyce wants in these games. It's all about building a team, a style of playing, a sense of self-belief and confidence. For that to happen, he'd like a core of 8 or 9 starting the first half a dozen games really.

Well APPARENTLY he wasn't on his own up front... He was part of a forward 3... Which only Sam realised.

I'd prefer to see Cole personally, as most of what I've seen on Piq lately as been him looking disinterested. I hope he proves me wrong... Big Sam did mention about Cole not having as much game time due to 'niggles'... or was that simply because they don't want him to get injured and hope someone comes in for him? He's bigging up Cole's loyalty to the club... but is that for our sake or prospective buyers?
