One fella's Mother was taken into hospital early Saturday morning, she's OK but he never made the game, so there's one who you regard "bottled it"

Baldock had no chance when he came on as they just pumped the ball up to him.

I didn't see a Millwall fan outside the ground, the game was very well policed and well organised although I was lucky to sneak out of London Bridge after the game as we parked near London Bridge.
I'm surprised that we brought Benni back tbh.

Well said. Major, the voice of reason ... ahem :)

I know I should be happy with a point and a clean sheet from what was always going to be a difficult game but I did so want us to stuff the p*****. Now their season is halfway through they can go back to being a (comparative) pushover for the rest of the championship until their next do or die effort at The Boleyn.

Tell you what, in January we should break the bank and bid for that "Asa Tonnick-Drinx". From the radio It sounded like the bloke was everywhere.

Oh well, onwards and - hopefully - upwards.

Yes, actually getting the ball on target and hitting the cross bar is quite different though.

I wasn't expecting Lasbury to try and hit the cross bar, I was expecting him to hit the target.

He wasn't on the halfway line either.

believe me i agree with you!! But god some of those guys don't even hit it inline with the goal when going for the crossbar, does make you laugh. Plus i didn't realise Forde was round the back of the goal i thought he was just off his line or looking the wrong way! Headbanger

I can understand frustration at Nolan if we are expecting him to score every other game or we want to see a Scott Parker performance every week.

I saw another disciplined performance from Nolan where he was always available for the ball out of defence and fitted in with moves with short passes. He was playing as part of a midfield three or four as I could see as Faubert and Bentley constantly were ahead of him. We never looked like being over-run in midfield and he kept on at a very well organised but quiet back four. Who would do that if we drop him?

Do you really think he would be intimidated in a game like that having played in Newcastle - Sunderland games?

None of our front six played very well. Faubert put in a good shift but only Bentley seemed to have his passing boots on. I could not believe how many passes of over ten yards were overhit - adrenaline?

If we were on a losing streak and not scoring at least the criticism would be valid but six unbeaten - four away from home - we must be doing something right.

The only criticism that I would make of this season so far is that Cole is too isolated and Baldock would seem to be the answer rather than Nolan as a partner, but I don't think that dropping Nolan is going to turn us into a better side overnight.

Lansbury and Noble would be far more vunerable if they were so poor in possession each week. Hopefully they will both get back on track in the next two games.

As people have said we would probably have lost that game last season, as it was a poor game and we nerver really imposed our so-called class on the game. But a point and a clean sheet is far from terrible . I never saw them scoring or us losing.

I travelled on the Jubille line to Bermondsey and I swear I didn't see another football fan until we went past two pubs full of them on a bus on the way to the ground..

Whoever said it was a 10 minute walk from there to the ground must be Usain Bolt! It was a ten minute bus ride.

Got inside the ground and there was an old couple sitting having a packed lunch - good on them  but it was like that specsavers advert.

And then I was in the centre in Row R but about 8-10 seats in front of me were empty the whole game. Good job in the end because I was throwing my arms about in disgust at every mishit pass.

I thought our crowd were fine - it is not like any other game I have ever been to , where you are caught between singing for the team and being constantly being distracted by the opposition fans and responding accordingly. Nobody could say we were quiet, but it was definitely not like a normal away game.

i'll shove my two penneth worth in.

faubert had one of his best games in a WH shirt without a doubt. he chased everything and was doing all he could, yeah there was some shitty crosses but he tried - I hear it all the time over west ham "i dont mind if a player aint good enough as long as they try". He was trying on saturday and some of you lot listening to it on the radio are still coating him.

Noble was MOTM for me. Another one who is apparently "not up to it" or "very slow" showed just how west ham he is i thought, brilliant perfomance.

Green was his usual self - a fantastic goalkeeper- no more needs to be said.

I thought our worst player was actually MaCartney, hesitated going foward, when he did go foward he ****ed it up (much worse crossing than faubert) never overlapped bentley once, wasnt the same player that we saw when he was here last time BUT he has hardly played much football lately.

other than all that the day was an anti-climax.

We started the singing in Hamilton Hall, was quite funny just watching people have a quiet Saturday morning totally bemused at people shouting Oi Big Boy what's your name.

It's the in thing currently isn't like that handball chant, ten years ago never really would of had them, where have the days of (insert club) reject gone, not many people winding up the goalkeeper and the goalkeers ooooo your ___ ahhh etc, it's just a change in times I think.

My first ever post so will probably appear a bit dis-jointed until I get into the swing of things.
On balance a decent away point.

I'm not sure they were racist chants tbh - more along the line of what Birmingham's Zulus used to chant, just a different tempo.
Little bald twat in the blue jumper looked like his p**** head was going to explode on their top tier to our left - worth the entrance fee alone.
The "she's got chlamidya (sic)" chant at the little caravan hopping whore in their lower tier - made me laugh outload, which I don't do very often nowadays (47 and laughed a lot.)
Cheers to the KUMBer who bought our spare tick outside Burger K at London Bridge).

All the best and see you at Palace. COYI.

That was for my mate, he didn't stop moaning in the pub beforehand as he was worried about getting the ticket.

The silly sod.

I've wondered about that for a very long time now, and I once asked Paul Jewell the very same question.

Haven't looked at this thread since before the match on Saturday as I've been working most of the weekend, but judging by this page its headbangers ahoy!

They say there was no aggro at the game but answer me this: why, on the Football League Show did Sam Allardyce have a "normal" face in the pre-match interview and a cut lip in his post-match interview?
