Re: Millwall v West Ham Utd: match thread
A quick note on the BBC London commentators...after they went on the defensive about their chat regarding water and isotonics, the guy tweeted back to my Tweet asking for an update on the water situation....
NickGodwinsport: @jamie_penfold i think i'll be steering clear of the drinks issue for a while - even when someone's lying there injured!

Drop Nolan?
Noone can play brilliantly every game but he's still chipped in with a couple of goals and is the captain we've needed for some time. If he was that bad I'm sure The Northerner would leave him on the bench.
I'd sooner drop Noble personally.

Couple of other observations-
Faubert was technically the best player on the pitch.
Millwall fans constant monkey noises and racial abuse to Carlton Cole was sad.
O'Brien probably had his worst game so far, maybe he found the atmosphere hard to deal with.
The game totally passed Nolan by, where does he actually play?
Bentley looked good when he came on and has a good composure on the ball.
Lansbury should have scored when he spotted Forde off his line, good awareness, but a professional footballer should be able to get the ball on target when there is no goalkeeper in the goal.
McCartney got forward well at times but not frequently enough.
Baldock had no chance when he came on as they just pumped the ball up to him.
I didn't see a Millwall fan outside the ground, the game was very well policed and well organised although I was lucky to sneak out of London Bridge after the game as we parked near London Bridge.

One thing that is without doubt...
Millwall really do have a problem with Chavs.
Cannot understand how their older lot don't sort them out.

I was impressed with Baldocks cameo
Would like to see him as part a 4-4-2 against Peterborough
And I'm surprised that we have not complained about the scum's monkey chants towards Carlton

'Here to see the West Ham' would be more appropriate.JimJams wrote:http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150798307850207
Lame singing, and as for the supporter who titled the video, clearly he was off the day they taught the difference between the word 'CUM' and 'COME'

Pink you are probably the most rounded poster on here (and im not talking about your waist) !!I'm well aware of Brookings qualities - to make a comparison between his contribution and Nolans ( so far) is rather wide of the mark in my opinion .
As for Nolans capability as a Captain , the point I was making in my first post is how long will he retain that credibility if the other players believe he's not chipping in with his all round game ? How can Sam question others work rate if the skipper isn't leading from the front in that regard ?
For those referring to Neill , well Lucas could Captain and command a place in the team on merit .
Why have we always got to over analyse everything we have lost once this year and dint deserve to, surely thats enough for us isnt it?
Nolan was not fantastic yesterday but he was good enough, over the year he will show his worth i am sure.
cant we just go to football have a beer and enjoy it anymore? always seems to be something to bitch or moan about...

The radio made it sound like he gave the ball away everytime he touched it! A bit different in reality then?? (the commentators were definitely a couple of tossers)morganwhu wrote:Couple of other observations-

Have you ever seen crossbar challenge on soccer am?? :lol:morganwhu wrote: Lansbury should have scored when he spotted Forde off his line, good awareness, but a professional footballer should be able to get the ball on target when there is no goalkeeper in the goal.

I'm sure i was watching a different game everyone on here seems to think he had a good game, i thought he had a shocker personally. He overhit every cross, rarely played a decent pass and looked ****ed after 30 mintues. Why Big Sam didn't take him off i'll never know.morganwhu wrote:Faubert was technically the best player on the pitch.

He had a good game compared to his normal game and most of the team, Noble was the only other player that deserves any praise.We_are_BML wrote: I'm sure i was watching a different game everyone on here seems to think he had a good game, i thought he had a shocker personally. I take your point - and I have myself posted we've been unlucky not to have more points on the board, but Nolan is rapidly becoming the elephant in the room .Nolan the elephant...........
Everyone sees the problem, but nobody wants to talk about it .
Albie asked me to cut Bentley some slack last week - and I have .I'll do the same now for Nolan - we'll see how he and the team does in the next couple of months .
