All their players know that a clean slate has been set and they will all be out to impress. Terrible time to play them
I don't reckon we'll get more than a point

Re: West Ham United vs Leicester City Match Thread
Leicester are our Blackburn in this league.
A team we hardly ever lose to (espec at home), no matter how awful we are, in my experience.
Is Mills, their captain and defensive leader, still banned?
So long as they don't appoint O'Neill we'll be fine.

Mills is out and a win puts us top (even if its only for a couple of hours). Would like to see Baldock plus a lump up front but this effectively rules out playing Nolan which will not happen.bubbles1966 wrote:Leicester are our Blackburn in this league.

Hoping for a win to start me off on my holiday in a good mood so I'm going for a 2-1 to us.
Cheers DL for starting this one with some match info

Re: West Ham United vs Leicester City Match Thread
Looking forward to this. Hopefully we can kick on from mid week and show that we can play at home, really take the game to them.
2-0, 1 in each half. Nolan & Baldock.

Re: West Ham United vs Leicester City Match Thread
I think this game will be harder following Sven sacking. Teams always seem to be galvanised following the sacking of a manger.
Not sure if we have anyone back for this game form the physio room but I would possibly bring Baldock for this one.

Re: West Ham United vs Leicester City Match Thread
before the sacking i would of said that we would have too much for them.
now, as others have said, they will be eager to impress a new man in charge. they will be playing for their place and i can see a few of there boys playing better than they have recently.
everyone will be fighting for playing time

Hoping we'll get to see Cole and Baldock some time soon...Cole has been desperate for a strike partner in this mould since Bellamy/DiMichelle.mushy wrote: anyone else like to see freddie & baldrick together up front?

I'm not happy with anything West Ham related at the moment to be honest
The thought of watching our team play like last night over a running track in a few years time is just getting to me. I've defended Fat Sam up until now but for him to blatantly tell our players to surrender possession last night to defend really ****ed me off. I mean, I can’t think of any other explanation than that. Surely our midfielders wouldn't of been so inferior to Brighton’s without receiving that instruction

Re: West Ham United vs Leicester City Match Thread
I thought Brighton played well - tails up, in front of there biggest crowd. We defended really well, we battled, we got three points. Last home game we blew Blackpool out of the water. We were a little unlucky against Southampton but I bet we beat them at home. The O/S is still so up in the air it could be as good as it could be as bad. Since Baldock come on against Palace there has been a slight change from Allardyce...I am certain we will soon start seeing a more attacking game plan. Seriously you need to have a **** or something. Your pipes are blocked. It ain't that bad bro.

I don't think we really battled last night though. We didn't close the ball down very well, we didn't chase lost causes.... We just purposely surrendered possession, held our positions and invited them on to us
Wrong thread any way but a performance like that will always leave my glass half empty
