I'd agree with that, although Green made some absolutely stunning saves today too.west ham15 wrote:Faye MOTM today by far! But well happy with today's result

Re: Hull City v West Ham Utd: match thread
Just got back after a long drive- really pleased we made the trip- first time at the new stadium and really enjoyed it.
This isnt West Ham any more , is it? Getting away wins on tough long trips up north - give me back my old west ham , please...!
SOme outstanding performances today...Green, Diop, Noble, Baldock, Cole all had 8+/10 games if you remember our only creative players in bentley, lansbury and taylor have all gone out within a week, its remarkable we're still squeezing these results out, tho its clear that we cant last like this forever.
Rest the bones and muscles for a couple of weeks now lads...16 games/31 points....bang on the money

Good win away from home. Hull looked very tidy, and played some really nice football.
Faye was immense, not quite sure what Nolan brings and good to see little Sam on the scoresheet again.

At 2-0 up with half an hour to go, seasoned campaigners were casting their minds back to our previous visit to the KC .........hearts sinking like a Fukishima nuclear reactor .w4hammer wrote:This isnt West Ham any more , is it?

I enjoyed watching the goals again, especially Baldrick's. He really has that instinctive poacher qualities. I love the way he dropped his marker and went to the far post almost predicting the knock on. We have not had a decent poacher for years.

Pub Landlord, I saw that Steve's son was on the bench but he is a left back, isn't he? My point was we have had centre halves go off injured in about half our games this season and Piquionne was cover for nobody really if you note that Sears could cover anybody wide and Baldock and Cole could cover for Carew. We had no cover centre midfield either. Why did we bring Lee back?

He will play Diop as his "enforcer" this takes up a midfield berth and dictates a formation (along with Nolan) which forces one of our home grown out of position.
Am I still pissed this was meant for the Cov away thread

Thanks for the effort in uploading ... sadly for me Filesonic gives nothing but problems. Rapidshare or Megaupload are great though.demonstimpy wrote:First Half

Re: Hull City v West Ham Utd: match thread
Great result, but I thought the first 10-15 mins of the 2nd half showed how we can play passing football, retain the ball and really hurt teams. We then stopped doing that and lumped it up, gave them possession and they caused all the problems and we end up thankful we've got Greeno.
I think it's great that we're winning tough away games when not playing well, but I'd like to see more of that 10-15 mins because we can do it, and the set-piece threat will still be there. Some great football sage once said 'if the other side don't have the ball they can't hurt you', they should take that on board imho.
