My bet is that you had a bad experience as a Child of something that was superfluous as you seem to have a complex about it now ??

& your defensive reply to this that you'll write will be confirmation too..

So Taylor, who has been injured for a while now strolls back in to the side ahead of our Captain?
A bit of tabloid journalism in your "crunch time for Sam" comment. We have just come
out of a toughish spell of games in 2nd, and are starting to look more solid and confident.

Carnage, I have alrady been severely reprimanded by Rars for my tabloid style ,I'm starting to know how James Murdoch feels .

Now onto the meat of the debate .

Most observers have suggested we have missed the quality of dead ball delivery that Taylor offers , and I'd agree , and against a side like coventry - who will park the bus at home - we may need a set piece to unlock their defence .

As for my other change , leaving out the impressive Diop - because Coventry will look to play for a point , I don't think we will need that defensive cover and 4 at the back should be enough .

Or look at it another way - how could any of Collison, Noble or Baldock be left out, given the fact that 2 of them scored against Hull and the other has played three or four games of utter beauty in the last 6 weeks ?

So, for my money Sam does have some tough choices to make for this one , and just playing your captain for being a Captain ain't justification enough for me .His other attributes, scoring as a "second" striker , marshalling a midifield defensive line ( which he does outstandingly well) and pressing the opposition aggresively won't be needed for this game .

He can have a well earned rest .

Based on form, Nolan would get edged out by Noble, Collison and Diop, but in the real world - to whip out a Sam-ism - it ain't going to happen.

Think we'll look something like this

Cole for me does his best work off the bench - it was the same last season. A half each for old man Carew and Cole is probably the best way forward for both of them.

Very much looking forward to seeing what damage a Taylor-Carew-Baldock trifecta can do - think this must be the first opportunity they have of all starting in the same side?

Green

Demel Faye Tomkins

Noble Diop
Faubert Taylor

Nolan
Carew Baldock

3 - 4 - 1 - 2... would never happen, but would be interesting! Cole off the bench at half time. Well it works on FIFA anyway :raver:

I meant the formation more than anything, can't think of any teams that play 3 at the back anymore?

Isn't the info from the club sources that they are available...which I think is different from being fit...Fat head will probably go for a cautious re-introduction..if as many are suggesting this game will be a stroll in the park there's no need to check them straight into the first 11.

We need to win this and well. A lot of tough games until January so need to go into them confident and knowing everybody can do a job when called upon and that maybe even the captain needs a 'rest' sometimes.

The fact that Allardyce has acknowledged the fantastic support and that over 6,000 will be going Coventry, may he actually feel
some pressure to not play his away formation of 4-5-1 and "direct" football ?. nah.

He is going to go 4-4-2, attack from the off, and give these midland mo-fo's a footballing lesson, and absolutely rout them. ****ing DESTROY them. Total Tonking, a minimum of 5-0, maybe even 6,7 or even 8. Cole and Baldock hat-tricks

We're gonna kill 'em.
