Re: Middlesboro v West ham United Match Thread
Ripped from The BBC site. Looks like a tough one. A point would do me but a win would be a superb result. Definitely a don't lose game. We have given away soft goals in the last two games falling behind in both so I think we can expect more of the same in this game. If so, we will need to get help for Cole (if he is up there on his own) quickly. Personally, I would like to see us start off with a 442 set up rather than the usual 451 as that has just gotten us behind recently. Having said that, we won both games so...........
Head-to-head
• West Ham have won 23 and Middlesbrough 22 of 56 previous league matches against each other.
• The Hammers have claimed 13 of the last available 15 Premier League points against the Teesside club, since 'Boro's 1-0 home victory on 11 November 2006.
• Their most recent meeting at the Riverside was in the FA Cup in February 2009, when 'Boro prevailed 2-0 in a replay, to gain a place in the quarter-finals.
Middlesbrough
• Middlesbrough are the draw specialists of the Championship (eight), have lost fewer games than any other club (two), and with West Ham, boast the tightest defence in the division.
• Five points outside the automatic promotion spots, the fourth-placed Teesside club are defending one of three remaining unbeaten home records in the second tier.
• Tony Mowbray's side are undefeated in four home and away (W2, D2), but have not lost in 16 games at the Riverside, having won seven and drawn nine since QPR's victorious visit on 26 February.
West Ham United
• West Ham could find themselves at the top of the table, if they complete a fourth successive league win and fourth in a row on the road.
• They are yet to take a point off a fellow top-four club, but hold the best away record in the division.
• Kevin Nolan is poised to make his 400th career league appearance.

To all those going tonight on a cold Tuesday evening I salute you
Boro are a tough side for sure, on our travels I struggle to see us losing, I am more nervous us playing at home than away currently, see nothing but a positive result for us.
Could be a bit of a bore draw.

Re: Middlesboro v West ham United Match Thread
This is a game where if we lose (like Southampton) I would mark it down as one of the games we are most likely to lose and move on to Saturday.
A draw would be a decent result in any circumstances, a win an excellent result. I really think all three are a possibility
If we get in front I think we'll win, we go behind and get a result again it will be very impressive.
I tip my hat to those making the journey tonight.

Everyone making the trip up from the south, pat on the back. Hell of a journey on a school night. The only really 'mad' one I've done was Newcastle last year - hope it's not a repeat of that tonight!

Neither would of started any way. Cole is in decent form and a little 0-1 Cole to score bet is 100% worth a fiver tonightw6hammer wrote:With baldock and carew missing i will be happy with a draw. With games coming up so rapid why was carew training on sunday
Boro have only won 3 of their 9 home games this season. We can win this for sure
Re: Middlesboro v West ham United Match Thread
Cole wont last 90 mins then we will have the inadequate pic up front. Our goal power badly affected without carew/baldock options.cant understand why carew was training on sunday after losing baldock sat and a game tonight..bad darts..

We will be 1-0 up by the time Cole departs then we will go into 'Fat Sam mode' which consists of hopelessly punting the ball up field then getting into position to defendw6hammer wrote:Cole wont last 90 mins then we will have the inadequate pic up front. Our goal power badly affected without carew/baldock options.cant understand why carew was training on sunday after losing baldock sat and a game tonight..bad darts..
That’s my prediction any way

He had two great chances to score at the weekend. Admittedly he missed them both, but still you've got to get into those positions.w6hammer wrote:Cole wont last 90 mins then we will have the inadequate pic up front. Our goal power badly affected without carew/baldock options.cant understand why carew was training on sunday after losing baldock sat and a game tonight..bad darts..

Should be a good game. Boro are worse at home than we are!

At the end of the day a win and a loss is better than two draws
