Other results sort of went our way .....
We've got our main striker out injured......
Burnleys away form has been excellent .......
Should have respected the point .

Damn...had a funny feeling we would slip up..its not the West Ham way to win 5 in a row is it?? Could have been worse so at least Southampton lost. Hopefully Cardiff wont get a result tomorrow.
We need Baldock in our home games as he offers something different.

Meh, should have won by the sounds of it but can't win them all.
Positives are that we played well, despite the loss, just another game in which we couldn't make use of our chances.
Anyone know why Taylor went off? Surely not tactical, you don't win a game 1-0 in 60 mins.
Thank god Southampton lost! A few other teams around us messing up their chances. Let's hope Cardiff don't get a win tomorrow.
Now a week to get the players in for a recovery and carry on our great away form at Reading.
Onwards and Upwards! COYI!!!

So when BS was saying 'fans were used to watching this team lose away from home last season' does he change that to 'fans are getting used to watching this team lose at home' now. Terrible result, these are the sort of games we should be winning hands down. Regardless of the fact we're still 2nd in the league, we should be using these games to push on even further and build on what we have to make it even harder for those below us to catch us. Lets just hope we get our arse in gear by the next game.

In a 46 match season, these results/performances are gonna happen. Shame coz we put a decent run together. We'll go again next week.

before the game started I really thought this would be 5-0 to us, but after 65 years of following West Ham it shows I know **** all about football

Re: West Ham Utd v Burnley: match thread
I remember a lot of people saying this when we drew at home to Bristol City, then we went on to win our next 4 games against tougher opposition. We have a habit of losing games this season that, on paper, we should win, then we go and get an unexpected run of results.Hammersfaniow wrote:these are the sort of games we should be winning hands down. I'm confident the team will learn from their mistakes today and the Christmas period will bring a run of great results.

Just having a beer after the game.it was like the Bristol game, just not our day.cant fault the overall performance, just did not have the killer touch or luck in front of goal
Re: West Ham Utd v Burnley: match thread
Might we have come undone today by being tactically "too" one dimensional ?. Burnley 10 behind the ball, need that litte bit guile, savvy, pace and trickery.
That said, two of the woodwork, missed a sitter, had the lead and yet let in two from set pieces ?.
At home, team full of premier league experienced players and didn't put Burnley to the sword. From the commentary can't even pick a Motm as nobody really stood out, although Nolan sounded like he had a good game until he tired.
Onwards and upwards and still room for improvement. Not the end of the world. Long ways to go yet, not even half way through the season.
