That's how I see it too. Against Milwall his passing and distribution was poor and I thought that experiment would soon be at an end, but he has been solid in the last two games so it's great to see we have additional and unexpected options for the midfield. The Gibbins wrote:I thought Tomkins looked out of place a bit against Millwall and didn't think he would get away with playing there against better opposition. But he was very good against Southampton so its pleasing to hear he done well again yesterday.

Cracking night on Sports Extra whilst the missus was downstairs entertaining the pancake and Brits brigade. Fantastic.
Having looked at the highlights on youtube, their goal was another sloppy one. It annoys me that the fullbacks give the opposition winger so much space and time to pick their cross out. Every single game the opposition is guaranteed chances from pinpointing crosses due to our fullbacks inability to shut them down.

first thing you could hear on the radio was faubert overhitting a cross
the chant "england's number 1" at lansbury was a laugh as well.

Blackpool. Another victim of Big Sam's tactical supremacy. Smashed apart like an adorable fanny.

Just got back to the isle of wight. What a great night absolutely top draw we where superb.
I got to say a great turn out for a mid week match. The funniest part was at the end when Vaz Te Went down right in front of us holding his leg and we all started singing "9 men we only got 9men" hahaha... Still buzzing and I got to say the staff at the Travelodge were nice too.. COYI :raver:

Our support sounded immense on the radio last night!warp wrote: yeah, that too could be heard on the radio, well done!
The commentators said at one point that they were sat right next to the West Ham fans, and it was great that they were. It was all you could hear all night, apart from about 30 seconds after Kevin Phillips scored his obligatory goal. I could make out pretty much every chant, and it seemed like as one finished, another started up, for pretty much the entire game
Must have been the most enjoyable match I've ever listened to on the radio. As if the football wasn't entertaining enough..... our supporters had me alternating between laughter and goose bumps for most of the game
Fair play to you all :second clap:

Scored our 51st league goal last night and of the 16 selected, 13 were English, British, Irish, Commonwealth. Good to see.

Re: Blackpool vs West Ham United: match thread
Is it any co-incidence that the 3 most enjoyable games this season have been the last 3 when we have had (i) 10 men for long periods and (ii) have not had Nolan - bar 8 mins? Discuss.
Do tactics go out the window and the players revert to type under these circumstances? Or do tactics become more improtant and hence BFS is god?
My inclination is to believe its more the latter. Though I'll grant one thing, the team spirit has been outstanding.
Well done to all on and off the park. Quality effort again.

When the red card came out, I wonder if Collison started to head straight for the bench?

Went with a couple of people to watch the Aldershot vs Southend game as tickets were £5! Good game, would have loved to have gone to this match though
