i'm not sure it's worth the appeal. Faye is not between the goal and the Bednar until after Green has brought him down.

Collison had his best game in a long time both him and Noble ran themselves into the ground.

the thing is we dont even know if Lansbury is a good goalie or not as our defeding meant he didn't have a huge save to make

After our recent performances without Nolan I want to see him have to earn his place in the starting 11 when he returns.

He doesn't need to make saves, he's like the Death Star - has a big, f*** off force field around him (but a completed Death Star, not one with a weakness).

Mick and Pinky in total agreement shocker .I commented after the Saints game on Jack being distraught at being subbed .He made sure he wasn't the guy taken off this week - credit the Manager with good motivational skills . Jack unleashed one cracking shot that worked their keeper , and generally worked hard .He seemed to have some energy last night and is gradually losing the bulkiness he aquired during his long spell out .

Moley - re Tomkins : My theory is his height and heading ability means we win so much of the "second ball" stuff , and he comes on to the ball for direct headers - a bit like Kovac should have done under Zola but lacked the mobility to do .Tomkins was all over the pitch at times last night , some terriffic movement .Sure the odd dodgy moment , but generally he is playing bloody well in that holding role .

Millwall, Saints and Blackpool all largely played off the park, and I'm struggling to remember too many chances for those three sides .We've looked comfortable with 10 men against all of them .

Oh, and Lansbury commanded his box last night .

So, would our regular attendees anticipate that this new role for Tomkins will continue even once Nolan is back?

So far as I can tell (one match watched and two listened to), he's doing reasonably well there.

I thought Tomkins looked out of place a bit against Millwall and didn't think he would get away with playing there against better opposition. But he was very good against Southampton so its pleasing to hear he done well again yesterday.

Proph , let's not forget Tomkins is in for Diop , not Nolan .

However, the problem will be solved for him by Reid being in NZ for the next week or so , and Faye being injured , so Tomkins is straight back into the back 4 .

Just to make it even more impressive, we lost Faye with half an hour to go as well
