Let other teams worry about our attack for a change.
This is the team to play at home (obviously Tomkins instead of Collins if fit)
We really, really need to start going all out at home. Draws won't get us in the top two, and playing the way we have been (at home) just isn't working. I'd rather us loose all our home games playing this way and end up in the Play Offs, rather than continue the way we have been and end up in the same position.
Give the fans some excitement and they'll get behind the team for the entire game.

Brilliant, and then cue all the whining about goals conceded from the full back positions. Or do you think that playing no defensive midfielder, and two strikers on the wings, is going to provide ample support and cover defensively?

But I can't imagine Sam will even consider not picking his captain
But it is a massive issue (as it has been a lot of the season), especially when we have no one who can play the CM holding role
I've seen enough of Noble & Nolan as a pairing to see that just doesn't work. Maybe against the poorest sides, but against anyone looking to play through the middle, it just doesn't work. Neither do the defensive side well enough, both are very one-paced, and we end up with both players game severly compromised due to them constantly looking over their shoulder to see which of the 2 of them should be defending. At least Collison has a bit of an engine on him, so would offer more in a midfield pair, imo
I'd give Morrison the nod, as we have so few options out wide, and would like to see us play the 2 strikers listed, and play the ball to their feet
Middlesbrough' s match report from the week end mentions their centre backs being bullied through out the match. This game is set up for Cole. Like o'Brien but too ponderous going forward. Morrison is more hope than anything but why not. If not working by half time bring on Linda and push Taylor forward. Need to win this so badly.

Think I will stay at home and watch this one on the tele.
Reckon we'll win 1-0 and Big Sam will be a genuis for winning when not playing well.
Worse than last season?! That really does take some beating.

I'd imagine part of that may be because you'd probably decided you would be, before a ball was kicked?
I.e - Allardyce had to have a god-like effect to win you over from a point of such negativity towards his appointment?
I think for this game he would be wise to pick a 4 5 1 formation as the last thing we want to do is create an attacking enviroment whilst playing at home. People would cheer and smile and pat each other on the back. He always leaves us on a knife edge as to who will play on his own up front.

JOB Faye Collins Linda
Collison Noble
Baldock Nolan Maynard
Cole
Luckily for Real Madrid, they put two wingers out wide in Ronaldo and Ozil. I can see why people want to see Maynard and Baldock starting but i just can't see the benefit of them playing wide of Cole. We've seen Baldock do it and while he performed admirably, his game is goal scoring and he needs to be in the box and i assume it will be the same with Maynard. It's a team and formation that looks great on paper but on the pitch i cant see it working.
