Of course it does. If he really was the cause of our endless struggling of the last few seasons he would have been dropped. Like Jimenez, Diamanti, Kovac and all the other mugs folks on here seemed to think would take his place were. He hasn't, simples.

Noble isn't "Parker and Noble".

Since we were discussing "common denominators in our myriad of struggles", I thought it might be pertinent to list his ever-present partner in said struggles. I could have added Green, Tomkins and Cole but that would have been taking the piss a bit...

There seems to me to be an anomaly between the way our support rates him and the way he is viewed by other teams' managers. Where are the PL bids? Why wasn't he in the top 10 players selected by the managers at this level?

Surely, if he was that good, that obvious a PL player - that would be reflected in other clubs interest?

He's a decent player - good technically, probably wasted playing so deep - but he shouldn't be an absolute shoo-in if we went up.

Rating players by how much interest there is from other football clubs for them is rather silly. Best to just watch them on the football pitch while they're playing for West Ham. Maybe then we would appreciate what is possibly the last of the line of "classic" West Ham central midfield players, soon to be as extinct as the dodo bird in a world obsessed with "AMs", "DMs", and Yaya F*cking Toure...

That is known as the reflected glory in the shitness of others. Pointing to others saying they are worse, does not mean that he has been fan-dabbie-dozie.

I could have added Green, Tomkins and Cole but that would have been taking the piss a bit...

Why?

Ask how many good PL seasons have these four players had between them and you have the answer to our potential to build a decent PL team next season (if we go up)

Rating players by how much interest there is from other clubs for them is rather silly.

No shortage of good quality takers for Parker or Bellamy, were there? Ilunga and Kovac on the other hand.

Being pretty impartial and unattached is actually a good way of rating players.

I'm lost for words.

Watched all 60 seconds of the highlights down here last night and again this morning with my boy, couldn't see any reason for Nolan's goal to be dissallowed to be honest, if there was a shove it was so small and if you can't challenge for a 50/50 ball in the air then what's the fkn point of the game......

Baldock should have done better, but at least he's getting chances on goal, was unlucky towards the end, the ball could have gone anywhere off the keeper - more times than not that would have gone in. Sam should stick with Baldock and Cole, they'll terrorise Posh defenders...

Two very sloppy goals conceded by us, should never have gone two down to begin with.

You can clearly see the Cole from last year again - no confidence in front of goal....his shot into the side netting and the ball that almost got bundled over the the line.

Anyhoo, I think we'll batter the Posh tonight and Morrison should be given at least 45 minutes!! :crest:

So Baldock and Cole both fluffed good chances - yet Sam was just 'unlucky' whilst Carlton has 'no confidence'...

UTJ,

Just posting on what I'm seeing shown down here on TV.

Cole has played a hell of a lot more the Baldock, yet Baldock seems to be "full of beans" so to speak and CC comes across as being very frustrated going by his body language.

If I'm wrong then happy to be corrected by you guys attending the games.

Er, I think that's just called fighting for your place in the team. And keeping it. For 4 managers over 5 seasons...

Ask how many good PL seasons have these four players had between them and you have the answer to our potential to build a decent PL team next season (if we go up)

Probably better to ask yourself for how many seasons that rather decent spine actually played with a decent pair of fullbacks behind them, or had any decent width as an outlet, or had a manager who knew what he was doing at the helm. The answer of course, is since the last time we finished in the "top ten". Putting Iniesta and Xavi in the side wouldn't have stopped the constant raping we received for over two years down either flank..

No shortage of good quality takers for Parker or Bellamy, were there?

Or Upson. Or Da Costa. Or er, Savio. Judging whether a player is good enough to play for West Ham by whom we sold him to is rather silly.

Being pretty impartial and unattached is actually a good way of rating players.

I'm not the one who said he's good enough to play for Manchester United. He's good enough to play for West Ham for sure. Then again, I wasn't one of those calling Zamora "Championship quality at best" and then asking us to sign him again 4 years later. That grass over there, it always looks greener from here don't it.

I'm lost for words

Over the top of the defence. Defender did sh*t to be fair but very well taken by Nolan once he was handed the chance....
