I fancy a nervy 1-0 win. Get everyones hopes up that we are back in with a shot of automatic promotion and then f*ck up against Reading at home

I am an advocate of better defending. It's been as big a problem for us as our mis-firing strikers. Both ends of the pitch will need a complete overhaul if we go up.the pink palermo wrote:
So are you an advocate of 4-6-0 then Carnage ? Keep it even tighter ? Or do you prefer 1-4-5-0 , with perhaps Tomkins as a sweeper ?

Re: Peterborough United v West Ham United: Match Thread
Showed how to put Reading in their place by throwing caution to the wind; not suggesting we approach this with a cavalier attitude, but fighting fire with fire works too.
We need to attack these or they will attempt to run riot; not a game for shrinking violets and bulls**t tactics..and certainly not a game to respect the point! This adage has already got us in trouble
After our comeback on Saturday, I expect us to be up to beating these - 2-4 Irons

Are we going to draw every match until Dyer's Leg takes a holiday or meets his maker?

Re: Peterborough United v West Ham United: Match Thread
I reckon Sam will go all out attack for this one with our three strikers Maynard, Taylor and O'Neill all pushed right up. And anyone who says that that isn't three up front, or that only one of those players is a striker is talking antiquated nonsense. This is 2012 lads.
In all seriousness, I reckon we'll grind out three points in this one to set up a massive one on Saturday, but the only time we'll see 3 strkers/centre forwards/players who are actually known for playing up front, willl be if it starts going tits up.

We all just know it's gonna be another ineffective draw. Also can't see us beating Reading either.
Sorry, hope I'm wrong but that's just the way I see it.

If the intention is to play through Posh and to stretch them then yes, start with these 2 - if we persist with banging long aerial balls into them, then it will fail spectacularly.

Any idea where's good for a drink before the game? My mate who's a posh fan said a place called charters or something like that would be suitable but dunno if he's on a wind up?

Even BFS has to see that we attacked effectivley and won that half 2-0. I honestly think he has settled for a play off place "dont loose boys respect the place we have"

Ideal result:
Peterborough 3
(McCann 12, Sinclair 22, 58)
West Ham United 4
(Nolan 16, Noble 74, Morrison 87, 90+3)

It's getting to the stage of impossible to call until you see the starting line up.
Without a DM and with two up front, there will be more goals at both ends - but not necessarily a different overall outcome.
What's the score with injuries for this one?

Charters is on a boat, and is in the Good Beer Guide, thus usually being a no-brainer. Brewery Tap like-wise. Wortley Almshouses is a Sam Smiths pub, so nice cheap beer and food. The Wetherspoons is in town.
I imagine there's a Yates' or O'Neils that the large West Ham contingent will head to for the "I wanna go home" singing.
Not a fan of the town centre drinking, The Cherry Tree and Palmerstons look good, with beer gardens. Dunno if they're home-boozers or not but it's easy to blend in. I don't have an urge to sing at the top of my voice about how much I love east London when frequenting a tavern.

Re: Peterborough United v West Ham United: Match Thread
We have had so many disapointments over the last 5 years its hard not to see another one. The simple fact is sam sets up the team in a negative way, yes we are unbeaten in 10 game but the fact is Southampton and reading go out to win and for the most part walk all over teams.
Why cant we do this? hold on we can see burnley 2nd half!
The answer is simple play a 4-4-2 diamond maynard and baldock up top. They were brought to score goals so for gods sake let them do their job.hopefully Vaz Te will be fit if not Collison is fine on the right its only peterborough why should we be afriad of them, Why is BFS Afraid of other teams?
