A few people have said the first half was crap/dire/terrible etc
Whereas, we had most of the half, put together some nice stuff, after an edgey first 20 minutes to the game when they came out at us and maybe deserved to go 1 up.

Re: Peterborough United v West Ham United: Match Thread
As our humble manager says..it's all abour perception.
After we coped with Posh's opening tempo and got into the game we played some decent stuff at times, but not much stuck to Cole our main outlet, our set pieces were awful and we wasted several good opportunities with the wrong option (as usual). That and the fact that they really should have scored but for the most bizarre goal line clearance you will ever see meant that people had the usual downer on the team at half time, around me up in the stands anyway.
We played with a better tempo in the second half as Posh tired and Faubert made a difference meaning that had to watch two players on both sides as both full backs pushed up at every opportunity.
Very professional performance in the second half from all concerned. Earlier in the season we did this frequently, recently we have played better in the first half and faded somewhat especially at home.

Other chants that made me laugh:
Were West Ham United, we play for the draw
What the ******* hell is that! (Mattress Man)
Are you West Ham in disguise
East stand give us a song

Good to look at. Shows our buildup play was good at times even first half. Now if we can just do tha more regularly...
Also good to see that Nolan shot: it looked an excellent volley at the time, but it was right down the other end and my eye followed the ball - so I didnt see what his starting position was. If that had gone in rather than hit the bar that would have been the goal of the season, by a country mile. Absolutely outstanding effort.

Crouch the tiger, hidden Nolan...
Nice to see Ricky Vaz run with the ball at his feet for half the pitch and find the man ahead of him.
I appreciate it was against Posh, in the last minutes, but he looks like a potential spark for the team.

To see how it should be done, check out the video of the game where we beat the Geordies 8-1.upton o'good wrote:Also good to see that Nolan shot: it looked an excellent volley at the time, but it was right down the other end and my eye followed the ball - so I didnt see what his starting position was. Re: Peterborough United v West Ham United: Match Thread
Bit of a late post but here goes - Tuesday match was fairly flat first half - we did knock it long to an isolated Carlton Cole who I thought ran his gonads off for the team - the front three( Vaz Te and Nolan) left him isolated at times which meant it looked worse than it was.
Second half was comfortable and that pace Jools gives us is better than O'Brien.
Funniest bits for me from the main stand with no leg room so standing only
My mate Pete going about O'neill and how he brings nothing to the Party - then bang 2-0! Then everyone around him taking the piss
Then the banter between both stands - no atmosphere from the POSH so we did it for them.
Mattress Man - what the F'ing hell is that
A good night in an old ground - in fact it hasn't changed aprat from the new stand since I used to watch them with my Uncle in the early 70's - the same old song as well - Peterborough, Peterborough der der der
