I remember feeling more deflated after that game than I had been for years and years. Was still grumpy on the Thursday. Was surprised how much I cared

I wouldn't be surprised if

1. There's an element of experimental about both starting 11's, and
2. They were both set up to avoid extra time.
I don't think anyone in the World of football would be surprised with either of those two things! Early rounds in this cup are well-known as an opportunity to experiment a bit. Also, would a team ever set-up to purposely go to extra time?!

Apart from that, good post

True, we defiantly went down because we did well in the cups.

Just saw Allardyce on SKY say that it's a good idea to play youngsters who are beating the best side in the Country at Under 21 Level 4-1, in the League Cup but maybe off the bench.

& it's a good idea " given the round we're at at the moment " which makes me think he may be a taking a Cup possibly seriously this year.

I agree, we should just try and get out of all the cups as soon as possible and try and concentrate on finishing 15th or 16th in the league. A cup run would be a nightmare and definitely a recipe for relegation. Imagine getting to the semi finals? ****ing hell, nightmare stuff. And a day out in Wembley? Bah, f*** that for a laugh. Much prefer our season to be over by March and be safe. Potential European away trips? Please, who’d rather go on an away trip in Europe when we can go to Stoke and battle for a point?

Wigan in the cup

I'm going to assume you wouldn't want a ticket if we got to Wembley then Baritalia? What a ridiculous comment, a cup is a cup at the end of the day mate whether that is the FA Cup or the League cup

If we have any ambition to win something and qualify for Europe we should be playing our full strength team tonight.

To play reserves shows that all the club cares about is avoiding relegation.

We haven't won a major cup for 32 years. Our aim should be to win things. We should play a strong team.

GK:Henderson

Def: Spence - Tomkins - McCartney - Potts

Mid: O'Neil - Moncur - Taylor

Att: Maiga, Hall, Turgott

Probably said here already, but judging from the Big Sam interview on SSN expect to see some of the u21 Dev Squad featuring tonight. I'd be tempted to give Vaz Te a start in the hope he might get some goals for his confidence, even though I'm sure they'll come in the league for him soon enough.

Reckon it will be 2-1 to us, Maiga and Hall with the goals.

I've noticed not many people have put Jarvis in their team. Surely this is a great opportunity to get his match fitness up....

I agree. I'd also like to see Hall get a run out from the off
