Re: Ipswich Town vs West Ham Utd: match thread
First half we played bright attacking football. Kouyate looks as if he will be a big crowd favourite. Fast, hardworking and does not give the ball away. Jarvis and Downing looking good.
Second half like watching last year. Deadly dull. What was the point of putting Zarate up front on his own...he is tiny !
Last thought. Maybe we are going to sell Carroll and Valencia is actually his replacement.hmmm

Re: Ipswich Town vs West Ham Utd: match thread
Only got 4 warnings in the second half, from the stewards, (one looked like Bobby Davro) to leave the ground if I didn't behave.
Not bad for me...
Note: I was sober. I blame Fionn.

Just like ESPN a few years ago. West Ham on the offense, they cross the midway stripe!k-r-c wrote:The text commentary on the o/s is very american.

AC was on holiday when the England team were training in the UK mate. So, nope!StiffUpper wrote:AC was on standby for the world cup, and perhaps that interfered with his holidays and vital close-season rest.
It's feasible that he was granted special dispensation to come back from his holidays a bit later and as a consequence is on a different, delayed, fitness and match practice regime to the rest of the squad.

Re: Ipswich Town vs West Ham Utd: match thread
I , like everybody else, saw our new home kit for the first time last night. Normally , I am not all that bothered because I never buy it but I have to say I thought it looked dreadful. I am not keen on the shirt but when teamed with blue shorts and those awful socks it just looks a mess. As a minimum they need to change to white shorts....I know there is a thread on this which I have never been in yet...because at the moment the whole impression is that the kit was designed by a blind man.

Re: Ipswich Town vs West Ham Utd: match thread
There is a whole thread about the shorts... I was very focal but lost interest after quickly working out that it is all pointless.likemydreams wrote:love the home shirt but am i the only one who thinks the socks and shorts look wrong ?
White shorts and socks would have made that an amazing kit IMO. The argument against it is that there would not have been enough blue in the kit.
It looks ok in the pics above but to me just looks like we have been forced to change our shorts and socks.
Will take some getting used to.

The socks are truly shocking, agreed. They're like some hipster, Where's Wally, anorak and plimsolls sh*t.

Re: Ipswich Town vs West Ham Utd: match thread
Whilst I didn't go to the game, I really like the kit based on the pictures last night. I had a feeling I'd like it more when seeing it 'properly' rather than the overly edited club advertisement pictures. I do agree that white shorts & socks would have looked better but I do like this seasons offering.

Looking at the photos on the match thread from last night, the blue shorts look fine to me - it's the socks that are absolutely cr*p and spoil the whole look of the kit

They look a lot better when they aren't pulled up over the knees. Still, you wouldn't want your knees getting cold in this freezing weather would youlikemydreams wrote:love the home shirt but am i the only one who thinks the socks and shorts look wrong ?

Re: Ipswich Town vs West Ham Utd: match thread
I should add I meant the socks. Obviously the shorts look better pulled up over the knees and they are considerably easier to run in like that as well.

Although the owners are probably all over this and spending most of their time on it.
