West Ham Utd 1-3 Southampton (30/08/14)

Post by -DL- »

Saturday, 30th August 2014.

Boleyn Ground, Upton Park E13.

K.O. 15:00

Time to get the first home win.

I'd start unchanged from the team that started V Palace.

I think we'll draw on Saturday and won't get that home win until October 5th (QPR).
The pressure will build at The Boleyn (media hype) and I can see us struggling and it becoming an issue.
The players will end up responding better away. I think we'll draw on Saturday, do Hull away, lose at home to Liverpool and up at OT, before going into the match with Harry's mob.

I would keep Saturdays side..I think that was a comprehensive victory and do not give too much credence to the "Side in turmoil, business" and I think we'll beat a newly formulated Southampton team

That Noble/Kouyate pairing allows the wide players to get into much more forward positions which makes such a difference..

The only pressure at home is coming from us supporters. Lets just get behind the boys, and cheer them to another win.

We are more than capable of winning this game. I hope Palace is the start of us realising our capabilities

Zarate must start.

Southampton played a pretty much full strength team last night against Millwall (who made 9 changes).

2-1 victory with Sakho grabbing a late winner.

Them?

Downing destroyed Bertrand when he was on loan at Villa, while Cole bullied Yoshida big time at ours in February.

Adrian: Cresswell: Tomkins: Noble: Kouyate: Downing: Sir Carlton, pick their selves.

I'd add Winston if he isn't being sold.

RB I'm not sure. Likewise the no 10 and other wide man. Zarate is probably the 10.

After feeling wonderfully confident, sitting through last night as drained everything out of me again. Typical West Ham.

........................Adrian.............................
O'Brien....Collins....Tomkins....Cresswell
................Kouyate....Noble...................
..Downing.........Zarate...........Jarvis..
.........................Cole..........................

I'd drop Reid.

Very similar team that won at Palace please with the same attitude and message rininging in their ears before kick-off.

If Tucker Jenkins Son is fully fit he should come in a right back.

Good time to play them I think .... lets get behind the team for the full 90 minutes!

Adrian
O'Brien Tomkins Reid Cresswell
Noble Kouyate
Downing Zarate Morrison
Cole

^ Would be my starting 11. I don't think Vaz Te has offered enough so far to retain his place, Morrison puts everyone on the edge of their seat whenever he gets the ball in the final third of the pitch.

So we've lost to Spurs at home, one of our biggest rivals, we've lost to Sheffield United argubly one of our biggest rivals, if we also lose to Southampton where I spent my uni years I think I might have to give up
