Adrian
Jenko Tomkins Reid Creswell
Noble Kouyate
Song
Downing Zarate
Sakho
I have no doubt that my format of that will f**k up once I click submit!
Sakho has looked sharp for his short spells of play here so far and I think he deserves a start. I feel like another Palace away performance coming here!

I choose to believe we will not mess up for the third time in four games. Sam, don't prove me wrong!

I'm out othe country for this but will find a bar to watch it in, no doubt watch us play some attractive football for a decent period before Huddlestone hits a screamer and we respond by leathering it out of play for whoever plays up top to chase. I want to positive, I really do, but we are a bit sh*t.

Well you are a happy chap jumby! Cut the club some slack everything you say about it is negative.
We will win this. Middle trio of noble kouyate and song will run things. Sakho to bag a brace.

I actually see this match as a pointer.
Lose and it'll be another tight season.
Draw and we'll be clear of trouble throughout.
Win and I think we're top 10.

As much as Sir Carlton is a legend for us I wouldnt mind seeing Sanko being given a start
He seems the type of goal poacher/Line leader we really need
Quite impressed with him so far. Goal on his debut in the cup.. and looked sharp against palace.
Also took his chance well in that training game against ipswich. Yes just a training game but looked composed

I think this might be our strongest line up (until Big Andy is back anyways)

I know that Song started the Ipswich game but did he finish it? Has anything been said as to whether he's match fit or not?
Re: Hull City v West Ham united: Match Thread
Sam will be saying that Valencia,Sakho,Song,Jenkinson,Jarvis & Amalfitano are still not match fit.You would never believe they were professional footballers.

You have to play games to get match fit and none of them have played a competitive match this season.

This phrase 'match fit' is a lad of rubbish. You're either fit or not.
Could a triathlete not last a match as they haven't played a match?

Of course it's not rubbish. The more you play, the more your performance and fitness improves.Abcdef wrote:This phrase 'match fit' is a lad of rubbish. You're either fit or not.

Using your example, a triathlete returning from an injury is not going to record a personal best, the first triathlon they compete in after injury. They will also be high risk for picking up another injury.
In a game like football where you can sub players on and off, you are able to manage and minimise the risk of further injury to players and also manage the performances on the pitch.
That's why the players returning from injury may start and come off before 90 minutes, or make an appearance from the bench.
Simple stuff alphabet.

"Fitness" means a lot of different things.Abcdef wrote:This phrase 'match fit' is a lad of rubbish. You're either fit or not.

A triathlete could run for 90 minutes, sure, but could their musculoskelatal condition handle abrupt changes in direction/pace/load? That needs to be built up over time, and it's really not possible to properly simulate the forces involved in training.
Also, it's difficult for a player to immediately put their battle face on. It takes a few games to get your mind tuned up, as well as your body.
