0-0 or low scoring draw 1-1. They can't score and are disorganised, we have so many injuries to our attacking threats and are disorganised. I'm happy with a point as I'm 99% sure that will be enough for safety.

oh go on then i`ll say it.....all drinking in newcastle Mr Plod.... (3 posts and 3 questions asking where west ham fans are drinking)
Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
Defoe hasn't scored in a while neither has Anchiebe (if at all) so we will need to score at least 3

Think there's only going to be about ten of us. Can't believe it's still on general sale.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
Controversial opinion here, but I would move Kouyate back into CB to help deal with the dual threat of Defoe/Anichebe. I would line up as it looks below (5/4/1):
------------------Randolph------------
------Kouyate--Fonte--Ginge--------
Byram----------------------------Masuaku
-----------Nordtveit----Lanzini------------
Feghouli-----------------------------Ayew
---------------Sakho/Carroll----------------
Subs: Adrian, Sakho/Carroll, Calleri, Snodgrass,Cresswell, Fernandes, Quina
Nordtveit to replace Noble in the midfield, as we will need some solidity to allow Lanzini the free role he needs to create. If Sakho is fit, I would like him to start so that we can have someone running the channels up top. If not then maybe even throw Calleri in there, as Carroll would require a change in formation for us. I think this would be a strong lineup though, which would allow us some defensive solidity as well as attacking fluidity.

We really should be beating this shower of sh*te.
Sunderland are by far and away the worse team in the league and despite our injury woes, we should get all three points Saturday.

You're usually more optimistic than that! I'm going for an optimistic 3-1, Defoe can get his goal but think we'll be better now the pressure is off.The Old Man of Storr wrote:Sunderland 1 West Ham United 1

Happens most seasons doesn't it, team desperate for a win and along come West Ham....
However this time i see us knicking it one nil and safety is assured.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
With Palace winning tonight this game becomes even more important.
The last game we should win.
Need the same desire to win as Saturday. The same level of importance.
Sunderland are a beaten team and a defeated club with a deflated manager.
Go and win the game. Make no mistakes. Get the basics right. I think Noble will be a very big miss.
Adrian, Masuaku, Collins, Fonte, Byram, Nordveidt, Kouyate, Lanzini, Ayew, Snodgrass, Carroll.

Deflated team that hasnt scored for 10 hours with a deflated manager. I take it they will score within the first 10 minutes of the game knowing us.
Still I wouldn't bet against us, 2-1. Defoe to score first.
