Hernandez has resorted to cheating on more than one occasion. He took a dive for the penalty against Bournemouth where there was no contact, he flopped to the floor last night when there was the slightest of touches. He does it for Mexico too.

I am no hypocrite, I despise that type of cheating whoever does it. Its the same as the Vardy, "leaning into the defender then diving in front of them" type cheating.

If we had been on the receiving end of that we would have been up in arms. We used to be fans that wouldn't tolerate that, now we make excuses for it.

I personally felt Hernandez was a panic buy and I'm sure Man U were happy to off load him as he was a flop there too. His cheating really gets my goat, and shines a poor light on our club. Even resorting to cheating against a League One side of limited ability. The guy has no shame.

The sending off could have actually worked against us - the motm that Wimbledon brought on (who stopped loads of attacks) only came on as a result of the sending off

The commentators voices got all excited when a Wimbledon player crossed the halfway line. I get they want an upset but it was quite embarrassing. Why don’t they show that David v Goliath bias when we play the top six?

As for Hernandez....for all the talk of his great finishing he missed at least two gilt edged chances that Yarmo put on a plate for him. His all round contribution per game for West Ham is still below what he does for Mexico in my view

It was nice to see him have the confidence to round the goalkeeper and tuck it away, took that chance we'll, but he otherwise, needs to regain a bit more composure in front of goal and stop snatching at all the chances that come his way

He was fouled...it's the referee who sent him off not Hernandez.

Agree about the diving. I don't want to see it and have no time at all for trying to get players carded.

The defender touches his hand and Hernandez throws himself to the floor. My three year old niece would still be on her feet with that much contact.

As I said excuses

I think hernandez is absolute quality and exactly the type of poacher we've been crying out for for years. His goal record for us must be right up there now? Cannot understand the antipathy really.

Chico really has been one of the most disappointing signings we’ve ever made. Such a massive reputation and also impressive CV yet we have somehow reduced him to being a cheating, hair dyed, eyebrow plucked nitwit currently being out performed by Roberto bloody Snodgrassio.

It pains me to say it, but I, too, cannot abide Hernandez and the manner by which he plays the game.

I don't seem to recall Payet getting any grief when he threw himself to the floor on minimal/ non-existant contact.

The penalty against Bournemouth was about a clear penalty as you will see

ditto Crouchy....

definite pull back........and there WAS contact at Bournemouth ..again defo penalty...

especially in real time..interestingly enough there has been no retrospective ban given to him, so obviously it's not just you and me who thinks it was a spot kick...

Hernandez does it every match.

There will be at least one occasion where his fall to the turf is accompanied by a howl, a look of grief, or an imaginary card, being waved.

Payet did also have that edge to his game, sure, but nowhere near as prominently.

Are they still doing that this season, though?
They didn't seem to bother with most of the incidents last season, and when they did I still thought two of the three reached the wrong conclusion - ie it wasn't clearly wrongly awarded.

The FA had the rule all wrong. The blatant divers still made their dives, the refs just didn't fall for those in the first place. But nonetheless, due to the way the rule was applied, those divers got away with it to try again and again until it could have changed a match - of course, the panel would then have been able to retrospectively punish the player but that wouldn't change the outcome for the team.

Also the punishments were disproportionate - going down easy from contact = minimum two match ban. Diving from no contact = yellow card at most.
